  • I'm getting low on oil, so here are some quotes I got (Tunbridge Wells, Kent):

    Goff Oil - 500L: £288.49. 900L: £500.38

    Total Butler - 500L: £313.79

    Fuel Oil: - 500L: £309.49. 1000L: £566.48

    Golocate - 500L: £286.65. 900L: £497

    BoilerJuice - 500L: £289.54

    Home Fuels Direct - 500L: £293.48

(All prices include VAT and Delivery)

I'll probably go for Goff as they have a price match promise.

I hope you have seen the threads on this board regarding Golocate?
  • FYI : Ordered 2000ltrs @ 50.85p/ltr + VAT yesterday evening from Butler.
    South Worcs/North Glos

Same price anything over 1000ltrs, but decided on 2000ltrs 'cause of Middle East unrest.
    Maybe it's just me

Is the obvious one but look through any of the oil threads and you will see complaint after complaint after complaint
  • We ordered oil a week ago ......... and were given the it's 5 to 7 working days delivery = Ok, it's not a problem, we can last.

Unfortunately- it didn't quite work out that way.

Having moved here a couple of years ago we have yet to replace the old metal oil tank, which has nothing but a stick to dip in and check the level of the oil ....... and quite simply, we got it wrong “ hands in the air “ and we ran out.

No problem we thought - just ask for help.

So, I rang Total Butler last Saturday morning, explained that we had an order awaiting delivery and that we had a special need as we have a disabled child in the house, who is immobile and we really do need to try to keep the little might warm.

Sorry - we can't do anything until Monday, I was told.

So, we had a miserable cold weekend , poor Popsy spent most of it wrapped in blankets to keep her warm .

Monday the phone rang and we were delighted to be told delivery would be Tuesday.

It's now Thursday 3.30pm - we have gone past 3 g'td delivery days and still have no oil, no heating and no hot water and I’m on the phone again to TB – waiting for CS, who are all busy …… to try to find out why it did not arrive again today .

I now speak to Customer Service at least twice daily – get another story from them and have to laugh.

Quite simply TB, don’t give a shxt and the frustration you feel is immense as you are simply not able to talk with anyone , nor get an answer , nor even plead for a bit of empathy , understanding or help – it all falls on deaf ears .

This is life in 2011 ………..or is it 1811 …../ not sure .

We do however have one open fire , one kettle and more blankets , so we are still alive.

Oh and go to someone else and buy oil , tried that – Sorry , it’s 5 to 7 days delivery is all you get ……….
  • Just got hold of TB , CS ........no delivery today - it could be tommorow ....... " I think they should be absoluty ashamed of themselves "
  • Friday - am CS tell us our delivery will be here first thing.
10.45am - I ring them, as it's not turned up.

Friday 4th Feb 11.25am- " Praise the Lord “....a delivery lorry.

The delivery arrived on a mini tanker with another scheduled for the cottages behind our property. So now we know that the whole problem of getting our delivery early has been caused because of the delivery behind us being scheduled for today.
i.e., The TB depot not wanting to send out the delivery vehicle earlier in the week with just one drop on to us and then another today for the cottage behind us.

Thing is we don’t need a mini tanker to deliver here –Watson’s and O’Jays don’t use one and what really get’s my goat is the fact that we are only just over 30 whole minutes away from the TB depot.
To be truthful - I am more than disgusted and infuriated by the whole event and be assured I have no intention of ever using their services again – but I don’t for a minute think that will bother them.
A very , very kind lady at Mole Valley Farmers ( Karen to be precise on the help line ) found us some oil in 25ltr drums we could collect from Watsons Fuels in Collumpton today – if our delivery had not turned up . …………now there’s service for you and I only rang them to see if they had any oil in stock , so there are company’s out there who care – thank you Karen & Mole Valley Farmers, Popsy sends you a kiss.

So how many working days was that then?
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.

Not really the point is it. They have a disabled child and TB couldn't give a rats a*** by the sound of it. I bet you wouldn't be "oh they are within the working day time frame" if it was you in that situation.
