SAR request linked to a PCN

I have got to the stage where I have a letter before claim for a parking charge. Is it correct that I don’t need to send a copy of my passport or driving licence and a copy of my V5 would be sufficient as ID ?

No need to send driving licence or passport (but many PPCs ask for them, don't let them have either). A copy of the V5C plus a copy of your PCN with your name and address on it, or a copy of a recent utility bill, are sufficient.

Do you need more help with the stage you're at?  It's now at the business end of things.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

And don't just send a weak 'holding' letter to the solicitors, which won't stop them.

    Which solicitor?

    Which PPC?

    What's the background?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you for your responses . I know kicking myself tbh as with hindsight I may have had the PCN cancelled by POPLA had I submitted it back in June , but I think the PPC ‘s comment about fine will revert to £100 ( they offered £20) if I lost through POPLA , put me off so just ignored all letters after the PPC rejected my appeal . I probably should have just paid £20 but my view was I had paid for my parking , why should I have to pay again. My issue is a keying error and having read the BPA guidelines and not sure if it falls under major or minor. I thought I had input the car Reg ( it was a sunny day and the machine I was using had poor visibility on the screen other machines were in use) ticket printed out with car reg as 0 which I wasn’t sure was correct or not but I had paid and it had printed a ticket. I got a PCN, photos etc  appealed sent them a copy of the ticket , but they said nope PCN applies but reduced to £20. I went back and said I had paid enough for my stay , mentioned the sun and visibility and asked why it prints a ticket without a Reg if so important. No reply just chasing for money which is now at £170. ( joke) PPC is Northwest Parking  Management Ltd and solicitors are DCB Legal. I did respond to DCB legal re the letter before claim . Did it on their website , told them I had sent a data request form to NWPM and put as little info in the financial bit as I could and stated where I could that I wasn’t filling it in . Ridiculous what detailed information they  are asking for for £170. Part of me wants to go to court as looking into that car park there are numerous issue ( also been in the media ) with the tickets not printing correct details , I assumed I had just accident it maybe pressed a cancellation button but now I am not so sure … I am getting a bit worried now , it’s disgusting how they hassle you , which also makes me want to stand up to them . I have reported them x 2 to the BPA for poor communication and for faulty equipment . Also told the sols if they didn’t hold for 40 days I would report them to the SRA

DCBLegal - great!  Send them a robust response attaching your ticket you paid for and showing them this case:

Let it go to a court claim and 'play the game' with our help.  They will discontinue with no hearing.

That’s great thank coupon-mad. This case is almost identical. Would you wait for the solicitors to respond to my response input yesterday ( which was a couple of days before the letter of claim deadline ) or just send another response with  this now and my ticket. What would you class as a robust response, are there any examples on here ? I have already sent my V5C and utility bill to the PPC ( waiting for them to probably say I need to send ID as they requested i.e passport driving licence ). In my SAR I have asked for detail of the ticket Machine also. To be honest as much as I want to put the PPC to as much trouble as possible I also want to not have this hassle going on ( it’s all consuming and worrying me … which I know is stupid and it’s reassuring to hear you say it won’t go to court  ).
Interested to hear what you think re timescales of when and how to go back to the sols. If I input a response means I have to go back through all the financial input info too. Also interested to know your opinion on sols involved .
    Thank you

Search the forum for something like:

    Dear Sirs cease and desist

...and change the 'best match' menu to NEWEST and you will find some robust responses I wrote earlier.

Respond whenever suits you but what do you mean 'Financial input'?

@Fig12 you need to stop writing all your posts (and any correspondence) as a single slab of text. You need to insert paragraphs between sentences where possible so that your commentary is not obscured by unnecessary blocks of text.

You obviously already have a grasp of what is going to happen and hopefully you have read the Newbies thread near the top of this forum. With the expert advice provided by @Coupon-mad and others on here you will easily defeat this attempt to scam you by this predatory private parking company.

From what you posted (after wading through the slab of text) is that you made a MINOR keying error. Especially if the keying error involves inadvertently entering the letter "O" instead of a "Zero" (O or 0) or the letter "l" instead of the number "1" (l or 1) for example should not be grounds for a PCN. This is already covered in the upcoming government revamp of the unregulated parking industry which @Coupon-mad will inform you in due course.

Please, please, please try and write your responses with a bit more formatting so that we can read it a bit easier.

The response online to the sols asks you to put all your income , expense , assets liabilities in. I put in 0 where I could and everywhere I typed I am not providing this info to you .

    Seriously?!

Can you show us a redacted screenshot?

I think you should complain about that and see what they say, then formally report your concerns about this unnecessary data harvesting to the ICO to investigate and stop this.

Email one of their staff instead.  Their emails are of course all over this forum and easy to find.
