kiss_me_now9 said:Morning all! First full week of my maternity leave today and I am starting in earnest with a rather full list of (tbf, quite 'small' tasks) to do. Mainly because I have several social engagements on other days this week and I wish to pretend for once I am a domestic goddess
Todays to do list -- Set up my diary for the week ahead
- Strip bed
- Two loads of washing (this one is mildly cheating as OH put a load in before he went to work. It's sunny and mild today so hopefully will get that on the line!)
- Tidy my office desk
- Dishwasher unload/reload
- Wipe kitchen counters
- Take out recycling mountain
- Clear kitchen floors
- Tidy up in the bedroom - will basically be a ten minute job as OH just left his tools lying around when he put the changing table up yesterday
- Straighten bookcase up
- Post the box of miscellaneous craft stuff I sorted out ages ago on FB to see if anyone wants it
- Read a little
- Drink some tea
- Design OR print and cut at least 3 stickers to start my inventory for Etsy (currently have 5 designed but only one sheet and I'm not overtly happy with them)
- Reach 1500 SB (£15 voucher) on Amazon... annoyingly I am 30 SB off and I can't seem to get any surveys to work
- Pick up our pram and car seat when OH is back from work
- Renew library books
Once my desk is tidied and I have done my more physical chores I will light a candle in memory of all those departed. Thoughts are with you all today x
Got all the windows open as well to get a nice breeze through the house. It's a lovely spring day down here£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January11 -
Pigpen, what is dead in the DW? it just seems odd that a newish modern machine cannot be mended.New chain is on the saw, and it works
you don't relise how much you miss your chainsaws when they don't work, a bit like a DW.
While my lunch was cooking, I went through all the food cupboards and chucked out anything that was out of date, the oldest thing I found was rice krispies dated 2017, so that ment they moved with us, anyway the birds are currently enjoying them!Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Hello all. Thanks for the list.
Today while DGD2 was sleeping I wiped window frames, s&sd bathrooms and dusted our bedroom. I'm working extra hours at the paid stuff this week so getting ahead a little will help. Washing is up to date, just need to get it all dry.Spend less now, work less later.11 -
Thank you for the lists. Am feeling left out in the chainsaw gang. Now the screwdriver set gang I can join 😊.
No surprises - busy day at work. I had to take 5 minutes walking around the car park as I was in danger of bursting into tears. Pulled myself up by the bootstraps and had a slightly less frustrating afternoon.
Got home, and DH had managed to hang the washing, that I had loaded first thing, outside. The towels are now hanging in the utility room and it smells all fresh airy.Dinner cooked, kitchen sort of tidied, that’s me done for the evening x9 -
My new *free* dishwasher..
Pots washed
I haven't done the pack ups but I need to sort OH dinner so will do it then.DS2 sent to shop for milk and ham..Twinkle back from her friends.. getting in her jims now.
I'm a bit twitchy.. Moomin has broken up with her loathesome bf and has ust gone to meet him.. he is awaiting a court date for criminal damage and on suspension from the army for trying to cut off another squaddies head with a machete.. and I ust don't want my daughter near him..
I have spoken to the EC's birth mother and said I am not kicking her out with one baby or 5.. if she needs to be here and needs us then she can stay.. we will sort something out. She isn't the first pregnant young woman I have taken under my wing.. actually the third!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)9 -
Hi all
Get you lot with your power tools. I could probably inflict serious damage with a tape measure so I will leave you to it.
Aww Fayolle that was me last week, feel better now but the clouds are never far away.
Paid stuff done, DH and I fed, kitchen tidy. I did some flying at the weekend so the house isnt too bad.
Pigpen think you have upset some appliance God, what a nightmare for you.
Feet up now, I think I have some Christmas chocolate left.12 -
This was the notice board…
it now looks like this (but the black writing is still there…a job for another day)
Took 2 of us a whole hour and we borrowed a bowl of hot soapy water from the pub. Most marks are off now.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
