Keeping on top of the admin side of it is tedious but so important.  That's when I go off track when I'm disorganised!

Applied for another job today. full time but five minutes drive from home. I have no wish for the children to age quickly but having to add up whether the costs of childcare is worth applying for a job is a bind.
Top up shop so lowish spend today

Need to write a proper shopping list before I go next and traisps round the aisles. I've got 14 pounds in my Asda rewards account so that's gonna help a bit too

Thanks. I sent if off and got an email a day later saying applications had now been closed early,  and shortlisting likely take a while due to volume of applications. Then another email saying they had another job closing that day did I want to apply. So copied and pasted application and replied. Then emailed yesterday afternoon to say ive been invited to an assessment centre this Monday. All very quick. Then last night indeed said a new job was just being advertised (the extra one I applied for that afternoon) that then closed to applications an HR later. All very strange. Hoping it's not a set up just to go through the motions for an internal applicant. I could do either job I reckon if taught but I wouldn't say I'm the strongest candidate for the new/second one so no reason to close it just on my behalf.
I've took a leap told my boss asked for time off and will see what happens.

That's good that you've made it through the first sift.  Good  luck for Monday!

So I went to interview. Did an aptitude test that was not unlike the year six sats papers
Maths, grammar, spellings... then scenarios etc etc.
Interview went so so. Didn't feel overly positive that I'd cinched it, and of the twenty or so people there, eight or nine were internal applicants so I was at a disadvantage probably already.  Got an email today to say unsuccessful for one of the positions. they had two types of job on offer. No news as yet about the other so unsure if the email means no to both or not. It was interview practice if nothing else. I got a vibe of being very much micromanaged and monitored so I'm not overly upset about the outcome.

Have since been told my day job is definitely up for review/change/being got rid off so still uncertain about things at moment. They would give me another job but where/what etc would be out of my control. Each day as it comes.

Sorry about the job, it's all good practice.  Shame about your role as well, it's very unsettling.
