I'm feeling old. I now need varifocals? I've been short sighted a long time and have been lifting my glasses on and off to read and generally struggling a bit. I'm hoping I get to grips with the glasses I've just ordered as they are a bit pricey! Will let you know when I collect them after Christmas.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Hope you get on with the glasses."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

My other half has given in and gotten some too and he struggled for a bit with them, took him a few weeks of annoyance to get used to looking through the right bit 🤭 I keep taking my glasses on and off too and think I might need some.... holding off for now though.NeverendingDMP said:I'm feeling old. Actually I wear varifocals and have done so for a long time.If the optical professional has got the measurements right, you shouldn’t need to do all the adjustments yourself. It should be seamless, perfect straight from the first.1

@liselle DP has had a right pain with them. He sent the first pair back and the second ones were better but he still struggled for a while to get used to it. He's fine with them now though. I think we should change our opticians as my glasses were too strong, DP glasses were not right either and we both had to send pairs back.liselle said:Actually I wear varifocals and have done so for a long time.If the optical professional has got the measurements right, you shouldn’t need to do all the adjustments yourself. It should be seamless, perfect straight from the first.Emergency Fund- £717.77

Thanks all. Interesting comments. I'm in the hands of whether the measurements are correct.eeek. I'm hoping they are. First person did them and got wildly different measurements from the second person who had to check them. A third person got involved and agreed with the second person and did a mini training session with the original measurer. I'm hoping that it's all correct and I get used to them. I've been pretending to ignore being unable to see close up for a few months and the optician said I'm gonna have no choice but to have them eventually so to just get on with it and give them a try. I just hope I can see through them! Oh how rich I would be if I'd never needed glasses. 😂Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Really understand the limping along to the end of term one day at a time. I hope you are now resting.Me, DD1 20, DS 18, DD2 15, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/191

We didn't make it. Got a phonecall to collect one child early from afterschool club last night as they were unwell and upset. Then the other primary school child threw up in the night. Called it a day and kept the youngest two off today. Looked a bit suss I suppose but one was sent home and the other had puked so not much I could do. Sent the eldest to school out of the way. Terms properly finished now thank goodness!Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213
