Well I have the new glasses and so far I'm not sure. I've two pairs. One I'm getting on with okay but not convinced the prescription is right. They told me my short sighted prescription had improved but honestly I can see better with my old glasses. they are varifocals so I shall continue to try to find the   " sweet spot" to see things. My gut is telling me I've worked these frames out pretty well with regards to the varifocals but the prescription is wrong. The second pair are not very good at all. If I put my chin on my chest and stare ahead I can see the distance stuff. 😂 That's not an ideal way to stand on a day to day basis so I will be querying that pair. I will wear them both at work this week then decide. For anyone that has varifocals should  the reading element work at any distance, ie up v close to my face and also at arms length or is there also a sweet spot/distance I need to hold things for them to work. I'm hoping that makes sense. If things are too close it's blurry on all parts of the varifocals (the long and short distance bits) but if I hold at arms length it's kinda of okay. Is that normal? I'm happy to move my head around but not sure I want to have to look down my nose at people or stare above them depending on how far away they are😂

Sorry about the glasses.  I didn't get on with my varifocals either.

Thanks. One pair I can see the advantages but honestly I've doubts about the actual prescription. What did you go in the end jwil? Two sets of glasses or just lift off to see?

No that’s not right. All should be fine, if the measurements were taken correctly, without any jiggling about. If I recline on the sofa and there’s tv subtitles, and actually the tv is not very close, then I do have to lower my glasses slightly.I’ve worn varifocals for years, from the friendly neighbouring pharmacy optician B—-ts.
