  • What's the date of issue (top right)?

You'll get the help you need here but it is unlikely they will stop sending the letters as these are computer generated.

If you get anything that looks like a court document or has come from a court come back here. There are literally millions of these tickets issues and less than 0.3% ever see court. Sending threats is much cheaper than paying court fees.

So next time you get a letter and you are not sure, come back here.
Looks like they are following through with their threats. Court claim form arrived this morning.

With a Claim Issue Date of 3rd February, you have until Wednesday 22nd February to file an Acknowledgment of Service but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.
To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.

Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Wednesday 8th March 2023 to file your Defence.
That's four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service guidance.
Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.

Thank you. I'll be honest, with all my issues, it's a lot to digest .
The worst part of all this is I have a ticket for the day in question, but the online app, often fails, and this was one of those days.
    Is this something to mention?
  • Just to clarify my above comment. When it failed, it delayed the ticket purchase past the ten minutes grace period.

It's not a lot to digest.  It's very easy.

There is a template defence.  Takes half an hour to add your facts (yes, mention your facts) and details & sign/date it.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
  • Thank you all. I struggle sometimes when things get a little overwhelming, that's part of my anxiety disorder. But I will keep rereading the threads you have linked above to get a better grasp on the way forward.

Just post your edited paragraphs 2 & 3 and we will look at them and make some suggestions for you.  Don't post the whole of the defence template (we don't need to check all of it - just paras 2 & 3 and any that you add).  When you are happy with any corrections and edits we suggest, you can add it back to the rest of the template and send it by e-mail as per the instructions in the template defence thread.

  • I've been struggling with this, mentally, over the past few days..... Sleep etc is definitely hard to come by as I'm in a constant state of anxiety.
My question to you, if I may,is - should I mention things like this in my defense? Or would it be deemed irrelevant?
