Same stage as this one, perfectly normal:

Please read what I said there because that is what needs to be done next. Although your dates are not the same as theirs, of course.
And why earth do you want to pay the hearing fee for the Claimant?!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Unless you are the claimant, you will not be paying the hearing fee! Your witness statement is sent the the court where your hearing is to be held.Coupon-mad said:Same stage as this one, perfectly normal:

I misread the letter, my bad.
I've started on my WS and evidence, will share once I've been through it again.
What are thoughts on calling DCB to listen to their offer (with zero intentions of accepting obviously)?0 -

I may reply to DCB via email, see if I can get them to bite0 -
Well, I had a little fish, and got DCB to bite...
I asked them to confirm whom "their client" was (deliberately being pedantic), and what the offer on the table was.
Had the below back, with no mention of client name
All looks very standard template / copy / pastes to meWe write further to your correspondence below.
WITHOUT PREJUDICE SAVE AS TO COSTS
To assist the Court in achieving its overriding objective, our Client may be prepared to settle this case. I can confirm our Client would be agreeable to £170.00 in full and final settlement of this Claim. The current outstanding balance is £299.84.
Should you be agreeable to this offer, please confirm the same within 7 days. Payment can be made via [Removed by Forum Team]
When making payment please ensure you include the following reference number, <redacted>, to enable us to allocate it to the correct case.
Upon receipt of the settlement sum of £170.00 we will update the Court that the matter has been settled. If you are not agreeable, we will continue to follow the Court process as normal.
I will leave it a few days, and then reply politely declining the insulting offer of less than a 50% reduction on an alleged invoice, or in his words..."outstanding balance"Anything else anyone can spot that I can pick on / apart0 -
Regarding witness statement and evidence submittal....
I know this has to be done within 14 days of the court date, but parts of the template / example I have found has a section for "Observations re this Claimant's Witness Statement"
Obviously this cant be done until I have received their WS?
Is this 100% necessary?
Should I wait, or submit my WS and evidence (after getting you guys to take a look)

No, remove that bit.
Do the WS bundle before the deadline as the WS is what brings forth the discontinuance. Stop replying to DCBLegal other than copy them into the WS when you email it to your local court (not Northampton CCBC of course).
Have a look at the example WS yesterday by @Lought_TA on page 5 of their thread (...that I will not link because the username is a link).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I haven't made any further contact with DCB other than to reject the offer0 -
Have you done this? Closes very soon:

One more question if I may...
Is it worth using images from Google street view in my evidence, showing the multiple changes of car park operators? And the poor placement of signs / inability to read them when driving?
I only have the .pdf images DCB sent me, and cannot get back to the actual site...it 100+ miles away and dont have the time to make that journey0
