  • Little update
I have had a letter in the post telling me the claim has been transferred to my local court, and to wait.
Is there anything I should be doing at this point?
I have also noticed that on Money Claims Online the claim status has been updated...
It says I filed the DQ on 26.10.23.
    I did not, I sent it 22.09.23
So according to the status on MCO, I was late...
    should I be concerned?

That confirms how far behind the CNBC are with their admin. Nothing to be concerned about. All going to plan.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • Thanks both, I will get to work on my WS, and share here for opinions if that's OK.

Interestingly, I just had a phone call, to my mobile from DCB Legal...number 01606 539165
Upon answering it was an automated message, declaring its DCB, and they are calling me as they have opened a case against me and have "just" received my defence (actually submitted June 2023), and they "urgently need to talk to me"...press 1 to speak to a advisor...So I did, for funsies
Eventually a human came on the line, 'thanked' me for calling them...and when I told them it was them that called me, he "checked the phone number" and then hung up 🤦‍♂️
  • they "urgently need to talk to me"...press 1 to speak to a advisor. ??

Of course they do, they want to make an offer
Now they know which court, they don't want to go

It's what you call the home run, and it will finish either with a court spanking for them ... or they will discountinue

PS: This is top secret, don't go telling DCBL

I had no intention of even listening to them, or taking any offer they made.
I only 'pressed 1' to see what games I could play with them, and what crappy, nonsensical offer they would make.
I suspected it would be an offer having read they often do this, but I didnt expect them to just hang up and give up hounding that quickly 😂

I'd do that too. Wind them up.

Merry Christmas all, hope it's been a good one.

This morning I have received the attached letter from my local court.
All normal and standard I guess?
What's the craic with hearing fee?
    I pay this...?...when? How?

I've also received the below from our friends at DCB: (same day as the court letter)
    WITHOUT PREJUDICE

    Good Afternoon
We write in relation to the above matter.

Our client is prepared to make an offer to potentially conclude this matter. We ask that you call us on 0203 838 7038 as soon as possible to discuss this further.

We look forward to hearing from you.

    Kind Regards,
    Morgan Falconer
    DCB Legal Ltd

I've also had multiple phone calls from them. Automated, with the "press 1" to speak .... When I do they answer, and immediately hang up.
Should I do as Morgan desires and call them, or just ignore? I must admit, I'm intrigued as to what their 'offer' is.

With regards to submitting witness statement, is this to the same mail address as defence: ccbcaq@justice.gov.uk
And to the lovely guys and gals at dcb? (c.c. myself)

Unless you are the claimant,  you will not be paying the hearing fee! Your witness statement is sent the the court where your hearing is to be held.
