Morning all, I emailed the defence on Friday at 4.22pm and got an email auto reply acknowledgment back from CCBCAQ & DCB.I notice the thread with the instructions makes clear the email needs to be sent in working hours due to the archaic system - does 4.22pm count as working hours for them? Notice the deadline was today at 4pm so checking they don't clock off early.0

Should I resend this morning to be sure ?0

Posters here learn most from other threads (not their own one) and prepare better for the next stages by reading other threads that are already at the same or a later stage.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi all,
Short update on this - received a letter from DCB yesterday to say after reviewing the defence their client intends to proceed with the claim. However they would be willing to consider a settlement and have set a 7 day deadline for this. They have attached their copy of the DQ.Does anyone think going down the mediation route and swallowing a few hundred (total claim is £1.5k) to just end this is sensible? I am assuming you will all say not to but I don’t really want a potential court date hanging over me for 20 weeks.Does anyone have experience of what they normally settle for?0 -
We say a clear NO.

DO NOT SETTLE.
Not even when they send a desperate settlement letter at WS stage.
They will discontinue. IMHO you will pay nowt.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

DCB LEGAL RECORD OF PRIVATE PARKING COURT CLAIM DISCONTINUATIONS
If you agree to settle with the scammers, you become a part of the problem and will be marked by them as a mug and easily scammed in future. Over 99% of these claims are won in court or, more likely, discontinued before they ever get in front of a judge. Or, you could be one of the 1% who end up having to pay because they pooped their pants and gave in.
What are you? A 99 percenter or a 1 percenter?

Hi all,
I held out and did not respond to their offer to settle. I have received the following since:
Monday 24th - a further letter from DCB saying they are looking to claim against me for another two tickets from 2018. These were included in the SAR but upon reviewing the first claim were 7 tickets from 2017.Wednesday 26th (today) - a letter from the court saying they have reviewed and are downgrading this to the small claims court. I haven't seen this in other threads Iv read. Is this usual? How does this impact it0 -
All explained in the Template defence thread. Have a search for "cause of action estoppel" to see about defending subsequent claims for the same issue.1

Ok thanks so much0
