Good morning all
NSD 13 yesterday (yay!) I have properly got the lurgy now (chesty cough, blocked nose) but feel OK in myself so will work from home to save the office people my germs. Will take advantage of the extra time this morning to do some writing and see how on track I am with budgets.
Grateful for a slow morning, for still feeling able to work, for bf cooking for me.Student loan £5655

@facethemusic my son has a Chase account. He found it very useful when he went abroad last month, as he could use it there without being charged. I'm thinking of getting one to for the cashback & also when we go to Norway in April. (If you set up a Cheddar account too, you could get cashback through them as well. You just link your bank account that you buy things through to it & it does the rest!)
Did yoga again. Drank lots of water too. A different teacher today, we have him for the next 3 weeks or so, so will be good. He has plans for the kids to make trifle (Thursday 😋). Customer dropped seeing off when I got home. Me & DS3 went to see his GF's play. It was for a competition, her play was first, then there were 2 more afterwards. Finished 10.30, then I had to drive home (20 mins), so was shattered! Took sweets to nibble, but did end up buying us a drink, as I was so thirsty. DS1 had bought our tickets, so it was a nice treat.
Grateful for supporting GF, yoga, a good day at workUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

@pollyanna_26 hope your shoulder gets better soon and also "get well" wishes for all that have the lurgy again.
Having the heating off yesterday eve and over night was a mistake. Hadn't realized how much the temp would drop, we had 9C in the living room this morning and it barely went to 12C after an hour.
DS got a letter yesterday from the school having been chosen to do one day a week outdoor activities for 5 weeks (hill walking, canoeing, team building etc). He said only 9 P7s got chosen and one of the girls he knows also struggles with regulating emotions and outbursts. I wonder if that is the reason behind this then as the teacher mention it before and we obviously notice it. It is less common now but just happened again yesterday in school and after school club. He doesn't know why and wants it to stop. Maybe we should look for someone to speak to, he says he can't express it why it happens but maybe a professional can make him learn to express it?
Going into a secondary school today for a career talk, that should be interesting.

I have an unexpected gratitude today that I had not considered before. I am so grateful for NOT having booked a holiday this half term. All my boys are coughing and spluttering and have sore throats. DH is working abroad, and has come down with the lurgy too. He is bravely struggling on until he comes back on Saturday. He has no choice really 😂.
Instead, Dave 🐀 was caught and released, I have organised two ' loft experts' to visit the house, and it is all looking positive. The house has been cleaned, the laundry is in retreat 🧺🧺🧺 and I am utterly calm.
Going to photo some stuff and try and sell it on local selling site. Will price low for quick sale. Hopefully before school starts on Monday, we are striking on Wednesday so a phased return 🤣
5 days til payday! Switched one account for a Dec&Ant bonus £200 - they managed to do everything except actually send me a card to use 😬. Did have the PIN but no card. All sorted now, but would have been shafted if it was my main account. Will not feel at all bad when I run away with their free money 💸💸.
Also grateful for remembering the Chest-Rub-on-the-feet trick to stop coughing. Have had a totally relaxing morning without the soundtrack of last night.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

thriftylass said:DH is away, heating is off (living room went to 14C in no time as we only had it one for an hour) and we're all tucked into bed.
Grateful for cheap cozy new clothes, kids not even noticing the cold (it's DH that would've complained), lovely chat with mum (putting the world to rights and/or just us moaning about this country's state of affairs and the misery in the rest of the world and little bright moments like my auntie's 90th).NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸7 -

NSD 12 today, I think my mum will feed us tomorrow night so might make it to the weekend before I have to shop.
Long work day today, so just had dinner and will be sleeping soon, so nothing useful done at home.
