beanielou said:I was out for a lovely lunch today with my DS's partner.
Was lovely
Did not count syns.
Fell even with the walker~~sideways!!I give up.
It was a lovely sunny day though to lift the spirits.Sorry to read you've had another fall beanie even with the walker. At least it was a nice sunny day,I remember a while ago when your mobility car was in for repair and the garage were messing you about you wondered if you could have some sort of wooden ramp fitted at the bungalow to enable you to load a wheelchair more easilyThe wheelchair should lessen the falls if you still own one and can handle it.As PIP is inrended to help toward your disability needs it could be worth exploring if there is some way of minimising these falls.Does your physio have any advice on the matter?pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
There but for fortune go you and I.13 -
Couldn't report in last night as my laptop wouldn't charge - I had to unplug it and let it rest and started again in the middle of the night.
When DS3 and I stopped cataloguing records, I'd left a Katchachurian and 2 Liszts along with a couple of stray boxed Handel's and Hayden's (I think DS1 and DS2 may have boxed a batch separately or maybe the ex had them on a different shelf). Later DS3 messaged me to say he'd done them but didn't know where they went next (I was doing that bit) so I went back downstairs briefly and set up all the 'M' s for him. I didn't say he had to do them, they were just set up (and he did them).
Yesterday I went on my postponed trip to Bolton - Thursday was lovely and sunny but as the sun rose I decided it might rapidly become oppressive. I phoned the doctor's surgery about a text message I'd received - I'm going to repeat the blood tests but it's not urgent (I didn't think I'd be able to go after I'd been to Bolton and wanted to get there before the bank closed). I'd also checked opening hours for Justicia (fair trade shop) and decided that was a want not a need.
I had a list for the day but did not expect to do it all - some 'wishes' on there too. Went to the bank first (a straight route with lots of benches) and then remembered I'd weighed myself in the big town centre B00ts once or twice and it was directly to my right from the bank. Did that and bought a meal deal (they did have some sale bargains didn't let myself get distracted) then walked along a side street to sit and eat lunch.
The book shop was in front of me, so I went in search of a book I want (not sure it's out yet, might only be preorder). Not in (the book shop is definitely downgrading books in terms of stock) but did find a book for grand-daughter's Easter gift (I'm presuming she isn't allowed chocolate, hadn't even thought about it until I was confronted by a display of eggs in the SM).
MnS was facing the bookshop (I had my back to it when I ate lunch) and I decided to go in and look round the food hall. Morries or the market were on my wishlist but they were both a few more blocks. Picked up quite a few ys veggie packs and fish. It wasn't a cheap shop but I got what I needed (I currently have a huge bag of broccoli, beans, baby sweetcorn and carrots next to me), it's mostly very healthy and also a bit of a treat (I never had my New Year's Eve or birthday takeaway).
I'd worked out that Primarni was in the old mall and it was basically the route to the bus station so walked through and had a gander round there. Lots of things to bear in mind but nothing I loved and when I saw the queue buying anything rapidly dropped off my agenda. There was a bus waiting for me when I reached the stand. I found a space but the journey wasn't fun (reached my limit and no painkillers with me (I'm doing without when I can).
Very glad to be back home, sat next to DS3 (well on his feet really) had a long drink and some food, then put my shopping in the fridge (selecting items I needed), asked DS3 to bring my bag 'soon' as it was all I could do to get myself up the stairs. Read ate and drank and fell asleep between 6 pm and 7 pm. Slept really well - about 12 hours with some short breaks (nibbling broccoli around midnight) and a longer reading break about 4 am.
I've arranged to meet the baby and her parents at the Sealife Centre at the Trafford Centre on the 19th with food after and I've also asked about bus services to their house so I can try getting there under my own steam rather than them picking me up, taking me to Sale then bringing me back again (4 x Sale to Leigh). I didn't know it was Mother's Day until I put it in my diary. I have an appointment for ultrasound guided injection on the 5th (need to book taxis). I needed my current weight and height in order to self refer back to Specialist Weight Management Services (quicker than going via the gp). I need help, not sure if their programme is suitable for me but the number I've been given will have other options. Best of all there's a 12 month waiting list
so lots of time to prepare and get myself better than I am now.
Today I have lots of things pulling me in different directions but I have a number of small tasks I can start with, but first food and a delightful whimsical comedy.
Grateful for my head being more organised (I'm able to do puzzles I've been struggling with for 2 weeks) and logical brain is back in charge (logical order makes life simpler and I can get more done), feeling lighter and happier (many reasons, mainly the penny dropping for DS3) and helpful people (the woman behind me helped put my shopping onto the belt and a woman stood up straight away to let me have a suitable seat on the bus).11 -
Thrify I remember actually unlocking someone else’s car once and getting in it before realising that it had sheepskin seat covers and I didn’t! This was back in the 1980’s when all mini doors could be opened with the same key!

Years ago I went to my parents and they had bought me a sack of potatoes, my father took my car key to put it in the boot. When I got home I found it wasn't there. He had put in my my brother in law's car,
My car was a Datsun, brother in law's was a Ford.
After that I realized the Datsun key would open most Fords, parked behind one on the quay in Cherbourg, the owner managed to lock his keys in his boot. Panic stations but my key opened his boot straight away.If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.12 -
Good afternoon (it is still morning in my head). Gratitudes for today - DH got home just before midnight and is in an exceptionally good mood.
He has vaguely okayed my house plans but can't imagine them. He is not paying for them anyway, I am 🤪.
Two trays of BNS, sweet potato 🍠, and 🥕🥕 roasted up with garlics 🧄 and onions 🧅🧅. Will make a fab side to sausages, or stroked through couscous, or in a pitta with hummus . Cook once, eat 3 times.
The kitchen tap waited for himself to get home before breaking (yay!! thank you to the tap-gods!) and it being a 20 minute fix.
The Meatball store sofabed is back in stock for delivery 🚚🚚 so shall I wait until payday - it costs £30 more than I earned last week, but that is what the money was earmarked for - or do I order it now while it is still available? One to ponder 🤔🤔.
I am loving having plans. Terrified of doing it wrong though.

@f0xh0les if it were me I'd order it on cc (if you use one) and pay it off on payday just to be safe if there's been stock issues.
I was on call this morning and had to go into court. There was a big hoo-ha between the judge and the police which I was stuck in the middle of. I love this part of my job and it's days like today that I feel like I've learned something new, but at the same time I just wanted to get out of there! Still, it's overtime and all helps the budget! Plus I had time to catch up with the little bits of work that I'd left outstanding yesterday.
Was home by lunchtime and walked to the shops for some eggs. Decided to treat myself to wine, don't think I've drunk since new year? Can't remember, but OH is out with mates so I've got tea from the chippy and a couple of glasses of wine have also gone down a treat.
A few jobs done this afternoon, couldn't really be bothered but figured was best to get more done today then I have more downtime tomorrow.
Ooh I also managed to finally get booked onto pilates at the gym for next Saturday, shame the class is at 8.25 though!11 -

polly~~My physio is on her holibobs.
Can't wait to see what she says about falling with the walker.
I do also have a 4 wheel walker but it is so heavy.
With all the COL increases my PIP seems to be disappearing faster than I get it.

Today I am grateful for a bank of daffs, for the gym being empty enough for me to go and use some machines and a barbell, for not spending anything when I looked round some charity shops, for a quiet evening in with dc, for the rugby.

I am grateful for all of the days in the past when my dishwasher worked, got everything from inside of it washed, and ds1 have helped w dishes tonight, it just does take more time - and uses a lot of water to wash up by hand. Also grateful for a run and a swim, for a quick tidy in the garden and for working from home on Monday.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%
