Just home from work and realised today has been another NSD so that's 6 so far. Got to say today has been more a "no time to spend" rather than any actual thought being involved!
Took lunch to work, leftovers in the oven for dinner and will make lunch for tomorrow while it's heating.
I've started a list for the weekend- it's already ridiculously long but it's good to aim high!
Grateful for sorting some logistical issues at work- amazing how a 5 minute conversation with the right person is more useful than hours with someone else, a quick catch up with a friend- and possible plans for the weekend, only half a day at work tomorrow then off for 5 days.10 -
Today I am grateful for a nice walk, for a good catch up with a friend, for finding some fab clothes for dc in the ch shop, for the paperwork for the job I was offered nearly 2 months ago finally arriving, for dh getting on with looking at our pensions.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!9

NSD #3 today for me. I was at work all day, and it was freezing in the shop, but at least no fog today! But we still have an annoying hole where the entrance to our garage should be. It must be fascinating - there were 4 van loads of workmen staring at it this morningClaimed a £5 voucher from a survey companyAll food from home, including lunch for work.Grateful today for the plants reappearing in my garden despite the horrible weather.9

Oh no @Toni'sfriend, that sounds awful. Well done for standing your ground, but shame on them for being so persistent 😓.
What an achievement @grandmanerd, you'll go to sleep tonight with a big smile on your face!
Awoke to find the roof still attached - phew! Went to work, stopping at the shop on the way to get a couple of bits & some stamps to stick one on my dad's birthday card. Can't remember the last time I had to buy stamps - hopefully my stint on the survey will start again very soon 🤞 In the shop, a member of staff asked me about making her granny some memory bears 😃
The horrible teacher announced today that she was leaving 🎉 I managed to avoid her most of the day, but she cornered me at hometime to say she's leaving next Friday. I won't be giving her a present anyway! Spent half the afternoon being librarian - the end is in sight 😃 and I am now officially on half term break whoop whoop!!
Going to make the time count as much as possible. Put washing on the airer, put my new woodland duvet set on my bed, finally got round to doing this month's budget & finalising last month's, then after tea had the (dis)pleasure of sewing a binding round a large blanket that smelt of wet dog. Only received it yesterday, but was making my bedroom smell, so got it done out the way, ready to return to them tomorrow! Updated my business accounts, read my book in the bath, then practiced some Norwegian.
DH told me that some of his blood test readings aren't as they should be, so has to have more blood taken tomorrow & a scan, then probably head to Aberdeen on Tuesday to be checked over there. There's a possibility that his body is starting to reject his new kidney. He says they can do something to stop it happening, if that's the case 🤞🤞🤞
Grateful for a long weekend, getting lots done, clean bedding, fresh airUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Hugs from me too @thrifty
Yesterday was NSD 6 and day 4/100 complete. Also no coffee. Going to try to complete the week and then I’ll introduce it back in carefully. Did circuits class at lunch and splits challenge after. Can see progress starting to happen (I think) finished one book (that’s two this year!) and started another.
grateful for enjoying reading, for it being Friday, for having a plan.Student loan £5655

Good morning turtles! A returning turtle here, have changed my name but swam amongst you for a while during the NSK era. Have been an on-off lurker in the years in between, and now after several life changes am hoping to return to being active in the forum again. Have thought of many of you often, Apple, Dawn Foxholes & many more - and the things I've learnt from you - and the picture below sums it up I think!
Was delighted to see your name had change mothernerd and congratulations!
Echoing holding DH & you in my thoughts Thrifty x
Count me in for March!10 -
Keeping my fingers crossed for your husband @Thrifty_Taylor.
@Toni'sfriend I would report them. That is not ok. Ours have given up now but FIL was hassled too especially during the first wave of installations (when they were still rubbish and you couldn't switch as they just went dumb). It's the language!! No-one needs to take a smart meter but they make you feel you do. They just want to fulfil the gov't quota.
Had a great sleep, got up early, had just myself to get ready as the kids are on half term (bliss) and then walked the 50 min (3 mi) to work. And I'm still in early.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/2511 -
Thrifty Taylor I'm a great believer in the power of positive thoughts. There are plenty of people on this thread to either use positive thought or prayer on your husbands behalf for a good outcome.GMN There are 3 different Waste Wizard groups in this area they do take large bulky furniture.mattresses and all the things our local council wont and people have to pay to use a special disposal site. Most councils now are under a lot of pressure and ours is trying to care for the elderly and vulnerable along withthe refugees from Ukraine . The cost of child safeguarding is way above what dd2 the senior child safeguarding officer can recall being so high and the Montessori nursery where she began training as a nursery nurse on a college placement is now unaffordable for many .Local GPs send their children there and other medical staff.Gone are the days of Liverpool and Everton managers and players living in this area and sending their children to her nursery. They've all moved to Cheshire.DD2 was totally obsessed with Jamie Carragher. He still lives in the town. She used to sing a song they sang at Anfield when playing at home. Oh Jamie, Jamie, Jamie, Jamie Jamie, Jamie Carragher it's a wonder I have a shred of sanity left, The first lockdown a positive was I could shop locally rather than risk running into Jamie , Jamie on the high st ,he's perfectly polite but I've been singing Glory, Glory Man Utd since Georgie Best arrived at Old Trafford all those years ago I was an Everton supporter until then.I must admit LiverpoolFC have the best song. Just hearing the late Gerry Marsden singing You'll never walk alone could bring Tears especially after Hillsborough. Now his beloved ferries still cross back and forth across the Mersey and he is remembered along the waterfront.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
There but for fortune go you and I.8
