@Thrifty_Taylor- how worrying for you and Mr T_T, hope he isn't feeling too awful while the investigations go on.
Still on NSD 6- but only spent £5 so it's all OK.
I've had an email from my electric company about the £200 government payment for "alternative" heating (oil), but no sign of any money yet 😆.
Some random meals planned for the weekend, but will use up all the bits in the fridge.
A few days off now, so just relaxing tonight before starting the mega "to-do" lists!
Grateful today for my parents being close enough and well enough to happily provide childcare, getting away from work on time to start my holidays, DDs sport class leader coming to tell me tonight how well DD was doing.10 -
Friday was quietly successful (after a night of very strange dreams - poor food choices). I added hair washing and one extra grooming bit to my shower and cleaned my CPAP mask at the same time (not in the shower with me). I contacted the surgery to have blood and urine test paperwork printed and she's booked me in for a blood pressure test on Tuesday. I also got through to the pharmacy and repeat meds will be on the van next week.
3 sacks of rubbish/ recycling went out to the bins and did an extra few trips with green waste (food peelings) and cans. Used 5 cans and most of the fresh veg to make veg curry and prepped another 3 planned meals (more cans will be used to complete).
Cucumber, red onion, peas, baby sweetcorn, a green pepper and baby tomatoes made two large portions of salad to go with spicy salmon, one bottle of salad dressing finished and another opened (the empty dressing bottle will be used to hold the last bit of olive oil from the large bottle and I have a litre box filled with carrot, celery, cucumber sticks for snacking - there should be a dressing to go with it but I couldn't undo the mint sauce jar.
Three books went back to the library (7 books read in the month to date), found 3 new ones and renewed any outstanding ones (due back tomorrow). My back was hurting so I came back upstairs with a salad and the snack box.
Grateful for use up food (and occasional treats), being clean (and having fluffy hair), good books (the heavyweight ones and the lighter ones).7 -
Forgot to post this yesterdayWas volunteering at school this morning. Only managed to read with 2 pupils because the school had changed assembly time to Friday AM. Head teacher said I could take the other children out of assembly for reading which is a bit tricky when there’s a hall full of pupils. Will need to work out a new system… maybe I just spend a little less time with each kid and try to get through the reading before assembly. Schools are such busy places these days. The staff are working so hard all of the time. Over a decade ago I trained as a teacher but dropped out… seeing the level of pressure and stress teachers work under now, I am glad I did! After school, I went to the chiropodist. Feet have been in a state recently so it was good to have a professional tidy them up. I need to take better care of them… give them some TLC.Still trying to get to the bottom of the washing pile after OH having Norovirus. Energy bill has been over £300 for the past two months. I dread to think what it’ll be next month given the amount of washing and cleaning I’ve had to do!Grateful today for the days getting lighter, for getting more washing cleared, and for being able to make really good fajitas.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸8

Thank you all so much for your positive wishes & prayers. DH is feeling fine in himself & says he's not worried at the moment. His specialist has said for him to go to Aberdeen on Tuesday, no matter what yesterday's results say. Not sure if it'll be a day trip or longer, as they may need to do a biopsy. Keep reminding myself he's in the right place & they worked miracles when he was first diagnosed with renal failure, so close to losing him then 😓.
I hope you get on ok @lcc86 with your appointment. Thinking if you across the miles (& the huge waves we've got on the sea)
Had a lovely day yesterday. Dropped DH at the hospital, then took mum for her hair appointment. Looked in a CS - & I didn't buy anything!! 😯 Then we did our food shops. Mum cooked dinner & we put on a dvd whilst I knitted. I went to get my hair cut & mum treated us both to a Chinese takeaway for tea, delicious! We then went to see a local production of Sunshine on Leith, we bypassed buying raffle tickets & a programme, but I treated us both to an ice cream in the interval. Exhausted by the time I got home, but a great day had 😃
Grateful for the NHS, a lovely day, treats, knitting & memory makingUse it up, wear it out

Hi to @Starlight_at_Sea
Hugs to @thrifty and your DH
Here's my round up of the weekFREE FUN - Didn’t manage to do my lunchtime outings last week. Work was too busy and all I managed was a sit in the park and read my book. Will have to get more creative next week. BF and I have been having picnics in the park at weekends which are cheap unless you spend on beer at the kiosks (bf not me, I am an angel)
EXERCISE - Have done 5 sessions already this week (6 including a long walk)
BUDGETS - Food shop over budget this week. Doing OK with the cash envelope technique for our personal spends - still spent some cash on Dizney on ice tickets but that has come from my bonus money.
RULES - No new clothes bought
UNBURDEN - using up some lentils that have been languishing in the cupboards.
ADVANCE PLANNING - Setting aside spending money for Tenerife next month and I have a savings plan. Bf and I might do another money challenge which we are thinking about.
REJECT - I am on Day 35/90 of no booze and day 38/90 of no social media. I have also not drunk coffee for 5 days (why am I torturing myself)
YOU - Not managing to have my outside breaks at work. Must try harder. Have been eating well to try and get rid of cystitis (which seems to now have gone)
100 days - I am on day 6/100 with this (aiming to write, read and do deliberate Spanish practice for 100 days)
On 6 NSDs.
Grateful this morning for having got all the boring chores out the way, for a slow Saturday morning and for being able to understand most of the book I’m reading in Spanish.

Happy Saturday.
Treated myself to some early birthday presents to myself, oops. Got some candles, garden seeds, an artichoke bulb. Also started taking pictures again. Sold my SLR years ago but phone cameras are so good now. Will definitely walk to work more often. The smells, little pretty things I noticed, architecture etc were so good for me yesterday if that makes sense. Plus time to myself. Definitely prioritising self-care this month. Dropping DH off at a friend's tonight and I'll have a lovely bath.
Also did the weekly shop todayDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/259
