Is it a rat or a mouse, f0xh0les? Himself's sister kept rats as pets (yes, I know!) and they can't resist sweetcorn. Maybe if you baited the trap with that?Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.10

Deffo a big ol' rat. Although I suppose I can't rule out a freakishly large GIGANTIC mouse.
- thanks for the sweetcorn tip, we were assured they loved dried fruit, so a small ball of Xmas pud went in. Seems this is a rebel-non-conformist Rat, or possibly just following a gluten free diet. Next stop in the trapping mission, sweetcorn and carrotagliatelli!

I used to rat sit when she went on holiday. They also like cucumber and they love little sticky nut things that you can buy in pet shops. A bit like the little honey, sesame type bars whose name I have completely forgotten but they are Greek or Turkish. And they are not adverse to a bit of cheese.

@Shrewbie I had similar to you late last year and it turned into a UTI, best to get it checked just in case!Sorry I've been awol so far, this superflu/covid/whatever I've had has absolutely knocked me out. Tried to work from home Monday and Tuesday but by Wednesday I was much worse and am only just starting to feel more human today but still pretty rough. As a result I've not done anything other than lie on the sofa, or in bed. Barely slept either and feel like I have eaten my bodyweight in paracetamol... on the plus side I've been so hot and sweaty that I haven't needed the heating on!Very few spends, just a charity donation. I have missed out on some overtime today but I'd rather rest and recover. I did briefly log on to my work laptop just to delete emails and plan my diary for next week.No plans for the rest of the weekend, just going to keep recovering. Luckily I did get the slow cooker on yesterday so we're sorted for food, although I'm still struggling with appetite, not that that's the worst thing right now!11

Happy Saturday,
couldn't make it up. My energy company in the past tried to raise my DD unreasonably. Last month however we used £300, only paid £200 plus the 67 from the government getting £40 into debt with them and the app said please adjust your payments to 174 or 158 minimum as to not go into unnecessary debt??? So I did that just to see what happens and now the app tells me my account is in good shape, lol.
Spend day as I did a wee top up shop.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/2510 -
Today I am grateful for getting to see my mum, for good train connections, for dh meeting me off the bus, for the rugby, for my lovely snuggly jama trousers.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!9

NSD #2. I have not left the house.Have had a lovely bath, and washed my hair, did the washing up (before I went for the bath, not during - far too many pots and pans) watched 3 football matches on tv and did nothing else really.Made some lists, made a little meal plan for next week, and am soaking some chickpeas (also not in the bath),I have a very small shopping list for next week, which I will get on Monday, and I plan to use up some urad dal and make some naan breads - I am loving playing with yeast again! - to rid me of some pulses and weird flour mixes I have had knocking around the pantry for AGES.Feel like I am in control of next week already/ This week I am not working, but I am employed again from next weekend until late on Thursday night, and then the kids break up from school for half term at 3pm on Friday! How well did I plan that?
Also I should get paid for it at the end of this month, not next.

Hope you catch your rat @f0xh0les - we have had them in the garden (in fact we had a garden one a few weeks ago), and in outbuildings, but not in the houseStill NSD #1, as I had to buy some bread today. Little GS asked for a sandwich, and the quarter loaf in the breadbin was mouldy
so we walked to the corner shop and bought a new one. Didn't buy anything else, GS didn't ask for sweeties as he knew I had ice lollies in the freezer.
GS arrived early this morning, about 8.30, as DD was taking the older grandchild to a Cubs event. We washed up, 5 year olds are great at washing up, and it keeps them occupied for agesThen we painted, played with playdough, and in no time at all it was time for his Mum to pick him up ready for his swimming lesson.
After lunch, OH and I tackled the filthy roof windows in the loft conversion. This meant moving spare chairs and loads of toys in order to get at them. Then I hoovered that part of the room and put everything back. I will clean the rest of the room, and the ensuite, tomorrow. I found a lidded basket in the eaves cupboard that will I think look ok in the hall, to put stray boots and shoes in, rather than them being in an untidy pile on the floor. My hall is narrow, just a passageway leading from the front door to the main downstairs rooms, with the staircase almost immediately straight ahead, as is often the way with Victorian / Edwardian terraces of the more modest kind, so no room for a nice storage bench or anything like that, unfortunately. Still, the basket will look niceDinner was leftovers from last night, when I cooked a biggish meal for visiting family members, so no cooking today. On the moneysaving front, I ended a subscription that I decided I don't want any more. That will be £15 a month saved9
