Looks like accounts became eligible for the Alternative Fuel Payments from yesterday. Haven't heard of anyone receiving it as yet though so not sure if this is actually implemented by any of the energy companies, or just a quiet press release from the government so any further delays won't be on their heads.
The line about requiring bank statements for those that need to apply concerns me a little as there will no doubt be those that successfully exploit it. So though I'm am glad to see them give the warning here, I do hope it is stressed a little more firmly during the actual application process so that it's not possible to gloss over the sentence.
Ahh, I'm so used to having to hand over statements over the last couple of years that's where my mind automatically went. That makes much more sense though spoonie. Yes, I think the language in it is a bit naughty. As you say, I think they have only just passed the postcode data over to them so making it sound like payments should have already started is, at best, misleading.
I manage my mums Eon next account and noticed her £200 went in on 12th. She didn't have to do anything but lives on the islands where everyone outside the main town is on alternative fuel.
I'm waiting on mine from BG, well waiting to find out if I get it too. I'm wondering as I pay by DD whether I can get the credit (if they give it to me) transferred into my bank account, so I can buy oil!

It should be: https://www.xoserve.com/media/fadn4tnc/off-gas-live-postcodes-2022.xlsx?term=Off-gas
I'd thought the 6th was when they gave suppliers the details of who qualified automatically. (Could be wrong, of course!)
Thank you, it worked fine clicking the link in the PDF but it *really* did not want to be copied!

Has British Gas told you they've transferred it on to your bank account?
