Not that it matters for your appeal but it could be CV54 LNW which returns a grey BMW 316. Just shows how unreliable ANPR can be. Especially in the wrong hands.1

In the photo of the rear number plate, could the last digit possibly be an H?
CV54 LNH is a blue BMW 120.1 -

This is exactly why ANPR is not fit for purpose and banned for use in authority run car parks. Why Trading Standards allow this Micky Mouse equipment to be used for charging customers is beyond me, they certainly don't allow a greengrocer/butcher etc. to use weighing scales that aren't at least class 3 approved and checked by them. But unregulated PPC's can use any old camera they like to charge what ever they like when ever they like to who ever they like with no checks what so ever only a Laughable COP written by a bunch of colluders in an old boys club!4

Whos car park was this?My initial thoughts are to go for the landowner and tell them something like this:that they, through the actions of their agents have accessed , and processed your personal data to your detriment without ensuring its accuracy , or taking reasonable steps to do so.The accuracy of personal data is a key part of the UKs Data protection legislation (GDPR), and failure to comply can result in a hefty penalties. As principal the landowner/car park owner(s) are jointly and severally liable for the actions of their agents - in this case "smart" parking, and it may be prudent for them to remove Smart parking, and any other un regulated parking companies ( note the BPA limited and IAS or not regulators ) form their sites with immediate effect as the presence of un regulated parking companies is putting them, and employees at risk of breaching GDPR legislation. From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"3 -
A very good line of complaint. Well worth doing.Half_way said:Whos car park was this?My initial thoughts are to go for the landowner and tell them something like this:that they, through the actions of their agents have accessed , and processed your personal data to your detriment without ensuring its accuracy , or taking reasonable steps to do so.The accuracy of personal data is a key part of the UKs Data protection legislation (GDPR), and failure to comply can result in a hefty penalties.
If ANPR cannot correctly read a numberplate it's not fit for purpose and it must be happening to other people too. And some would get a CCJ as a result.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This has been reported to the Police and a marker has been put on the registration plate. It is definitely a plate cloned as I received a copy of clearer images and the numberplate has not been misread but is exactly the same as mine.Half_way said:Whos car park was this?My initial thoughts are to go for the landowner and tell them something like this:that they, through the actions of their agents have accessed , and processed your personal data to your detriment without ensuring its accuracy , or taking reasonable steps to do so.The accuracy of personal data is a key part of the UKs Data protection legislation (GDPR), and failure to comply can result in a hefty penalties.
However luckily we can prove is not our car as there are many subtle but clear differences between the two vehicles.0
