The price of baked beans

Lidl Newgate Baked Beans
Beans 51% Tomato Puree 34%. I find they are tasty. They score highly in taste tests. I can't remember the cost and it is difficult to find the cost online weirdly.1 -
... sorry late to the bean feast ...
I find the Sainsbury's Hubbards 400g quite acceptable, nice sauce. As a Nectar Smartshop user I get a can every two weeks and apply two 10 point Sainsbury's Offers (I get one offer every week, I think I bought a can years ago without offers).
Effectively that is 10p off of 25p, so 15p.1 -
The cheap supermarket baked beans are good value. I rinse the horrible liquid off and add them to a portion of homemade tomato sauce, made in the slow cooker, from the freezer. I add them to soups and stews too. It was an idea from Jack Monroe. They cost less than tinned haricot beans. Dried haricots are hard to find at present.1

If you have no weight issues and you are not concerned about heading towards being a diabetic, just opt for the cheapest. I had a test at the doctors and I was told that my blood sugar level was high, but I wasn't diabetic, but almost borderline.thriftytracey said:Lidl Newgate Baked Beans

That had never occurred to me. I can now finally see the appeal of baked beans.Nelliegrace said:The cheap supermarket baked beans are good value. So much to read, so little time.3 -
I made good on this - buying unbranded from Morrisons for 25p a tin with the intent of rinsing them.Rosa_Damascena said:

OH won't eat any beans but Heinz beanz. Iceland often has offers and I stock up. He only gets the 200g size now though. I'd be heading for divorce if he didn't get Heinz !0

'Which' consumer taste test and price report on baked beans ... reported in the Guardian p3 8th March ...MrsStepford said:OH won't eat any beans but Heinz beanz. Iceland often has offers and I stock up. He only gets the 200g size now though. I'd be heading for divorce if he didn't get Heinz !
... and the winner is ... not Heinz.3 -
I fully accept that Heinz baked beans may not be the tastiest or cheapest. Husband has eaten them since he was a child and though he has tried other brands, he prefers Heinz.dealyboy said:
