Cheesy beans on toast. Yum. A slick of mustard on the toast before the cheese then the beans. Yum!"One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate change policy is environmental policy. Instead, climate change policy is about how we redistribute de facto the world's wealth." - Ottmar Edenhofer, IPCC economist, interviewed at COP161

I was watching a YouTube video yesterday Chris The Butcher he did beans on toast with cheese on top but the beans had corned beef in I must say it looked good and he seemed to like it. PS if you do look at his videos expect a few swear words but he is funny.0

I liked that so much I quoted it twice! I'd substitute brown sauce for mustard. Great after-gig fodder.YoungBlueEyes said:Cheesy beans on toast. Yum. A slick of mustard on the toast before the cheese then the beans. Yum!Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!2 -
OK I'm late to the BB discussion.
According to trolley website;
Heinz beans (no added sugar) £0.17/100g
Weightwatchers Heinz beans £0.27/100g
How are weightwatchers different to 'no added sugar'?! - apart from nearly 40% more costly...Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!1 -
I'm trying to wean my husband off baked beans, as they aren't low carb. He won't eat anything but Heinz. Just done an Iceland order and they have offers atm.0

But does low sugar mean they're full of sweeteners instead? That's what I hate about so much food sold now.Spoonie_Turtle said:Tesco low sugar beans contain less sugar and salt than Heinz, I'm told by the bean-eaters here. Yes, in fact the loss-leader price wars on beans got so extreme that one shop sold them for minus 2p. They'd pay you to take a can of beans away.markin said:Every time i see the price of Heinz i wonder who thinks its worth so much more, And i grew up on Heinz as a kid, Was the always the same price difference with off brands a silly low price like 10p?

Plenty of articles about them being 3p/5p in the 90's too!

The article got the dates wrong, it was actually in 1996 that the price went to minus 2p.
Ironically, Sanders Supermarket was eventually closed when the owner sold his main business (a garden centre) to Tesco. They weren't able to get planning permission for a supermarket so it was ultimately sold on and is still a garden centre (now a Blue Diamond).1 -
My favourite hasn't been mentioned . Newgate baked beans are Lidl own brand . Less than £1-50 for a pack of 4 tins . They taste good . I am not too worried about salt or sugar content . A slice of toast is converted into sugar by the body anyhow !1
