  • Yes, I'd copy in the MP and email the complaint to Gemma Dorans (BPA Compliance Manager):

    gemma.d@britishparking.co.uk
I have sent Gemma an email as you suggest, and copied in the local MP.

She is on out of office until 2nd May so I will await to hear from her!

In the meantime, off to fight the LBC I received today on another one - thankfully I now have a permit to park in this car park - although don't want to test the relationship with the landowners by asking for their help at this stage!

  • So I set up weekly permits for a few vehicles with the landowners of the car park in Poynton SK12 1RE on 14th March which was confirmed in writing, on 20th March one of the cars parks at the car park - receives a fine from Premier Park!
    The driver of course appeals using Premier Park's online system sending in their written confirmation of their permission to park and incredulously Premier Park reject the appeal!!! Seemingly to completely ignore the evidence in writing of landowners permission they reply;

Whilst we note your comments and reason for appeal, we can confirm that the free maximum stay period within this car park is 1 hour and 30 minutes. As your vehicle was on site for 5 hours and 53 minutes, this was an overstay of 4 hours and 23 minutes. The signage on site clearly sets out the terms and conditions of parking, including the free maximum stay period. There are no exceptions to these terms and we can therefore confirm that this PCN has been issued correctly.

Please note, a new notice will automatically be generated and sent to you, as the liability has been transferred in to your name, as the Driver of the vehicle. This is for your records only and does not allow you to appeal again internally or transfer liability. You now have 14 days from the date of your new notice to make payment at the reduced fee of £20.00. If payment is not received within 14 days, the fee will increase to the full amount of £100.00.

Am I correct in my thinking that this is ridiculous??

Is this another one to submit to the local MP and Gemma at BPA?!

You are indeed correct. However, you already know you are dealing with intellectually malnourished people employed by these companies. No surprises there, hopefully.

Depends what the signs say and what the landowner's permission actually intends.

    So:

    - what do the signs say (photo please)?

    - what do the terms of the weekly permit say?

    - what happened when you complained to the landowners and asked "what's the point of my weekly permit and what are you going to do to remedy this farce?"
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Here are the pictures, the first smaller one is on entry, and the second sign is just beyond the red car in the first pic. The car park is quite large but not really visible in the pictures. Just one machine, and one sign in the actual car park.

Nearly three months since your last post.

You've answered one of these questions.
    What about the other two?...

  • Hello. I'm having a very similar problem to you with charge originating from the same car park, where I don't believe the BPA grace period has been allowed for. Did you find out who the landowner is? TIA :)

Don't hold your breath whilst waiting for an answer.   ;)

It's over six weeks since @[Deleted User] last posted on MSE and there are still unanswered questions from May on this thread.

Gosh I'm so sorry!! I only log on when I have an update on my problem!! A *very* helpful hand with this is our local MP David Rutley who will take up the case and contact the cowboys for you :) Otherwise, the landowner is Well Pharmacy. Hope this helps....

Sorry!!! I only log on when I have an issue, and the rest of the time try to ignore it....whoops!
The permit is an informal one, with nothing in writing I guess apart from the email on the day they said I could park there! I haven't approached the landowners yet - my issue is I dont want my informal permit withdrawn!!

However, Gladstones have now filed court papers so I guess I will have to approach them and see what they say!
