Working_Mum said:Years ago I used to work for a high street bank and every time there was a note change an old guy would bring in musty smelling notes and change them to the updated ones - the Guard and I would watch him go from bank to building society over the course of a few weeks and reckon he must have changed £35k (and this was back in the late 1980's!)
Now that is some FOF!

What is FOF. I googled it and what comes up is Fund of Funds - something investment managers have, but that is not spare cash for a rainy day, is it?

FOF won't come up on google cos I made it up
It stands for F**k Off Fund. When you have a problem and you need it to f' off, or when you're in a situation and you need to f' off, or you've got caught up with a dodgy bloke and need him to f' off, that's what the money's there for.
Absolute emergencies only. Never for paying your rent 'just this once' or buying shoes in the sale or some extra xmas presents. When you're in a desperate state and you need to lay your hands on some money now without having to ask someone for it or wait for the banks to open etc.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.14 -

Somebody earlier mentioned their pesto going mouldy - if I know I'm not going to be using an opened jar of pesto in the near future, it goes into the freezer, upside down. Pesto doesn't freeze solid, well the Lidl one doesn't, so is quite easy to spoon out what you need, especially if you freeze it upside down, and can then pop the rest back in the freezer for another time.
Quite handy to add a couple of spoons to hm minestrone for instance.13 -
