The accounts I initially linked 'tracked' the points in 24 hours (seemingly to the minute).
The additional, existing, ones then added did likewise.
However the newly created (then added/linked) accounts have yet tracked over 36 hours later.
So currently, it looks like newly created accounts may take a while to generate points. This could be related to the active requirement.
Or just a timing issue.0 -

I don't think he's too cynical. I think that is why it's called that. I used to do the surveys, gave up not long ago. I must've joined round about when it started. The points they give and the money for them is the same now as it was then!Band7 said:
I can't tell you why they chose to call it yougov when they founded the company 23 years ago. But yes, I think you are too cynical on this occasion.Brie said:Why is it called yougov? It's as if it's trying (like a scammer) to sound like a government agency when it's not.
Possibly I'm just too cynical?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/YouGovIIRC, when the website started the idea was that through having a voice online, citizens could take a more active role in influencing political decision making - in effect a form of self-governance through influencing the decision makers. I.e. You Govern.Again, IIRC at the time YouGov was founded there was relatively little online presence of local or national government in the UK, I recall discussions in the local authority I was working for at the time to the effect that the 'Web' was a fad and the council shouldn't waste resources in developing its presence. Equally I remember talking to some of the regional and national government agencies we worked with and suggest more use of the internet for transfer of information between us, and was met by a civil service stone wall. The Gov.UK website didn't come into being until 2012, and the forerunner "Directgov" didn't start until 2004.If the founders of YouGov did choose the name believing people would mistake it for a government agency then I'd see that as a remarkable piece of foresight, in the circumstances.6 -
1 was with Halifax, 1 with Lloyds, 1 with Bank of Scotland. Several months ago I did open 3 Halifax reward accounts in a single day without any issues, but I only had 1 other Halifax current account at that time.bristolleedsfan said:

One thing's for certain, I'm not going to be short of switching fodder anytime soon.1 -
The active requirement seems to want to see regular transactions on the accounts. I have been opening new accounts and am going to bounce some money through each day. I may do a few debit card payments to myself or deposit a cheque that I've written to myself as well just to vary it up a bit. I shall then link them all up in a few weeks to hopefully grab the points that way.k_man said:The accounts I initially linked 'tracked' the points in 24 hours (seemingly to the minute).

I am sure most of my existing (especially) savings accounts are pretty dormant.
I will try and correlate the added accounts with points added.0 -
I added 57 accounts yesterday a mixture of current accounts credit cards and savings accounts.k_man said:I am sure most of my existing (especially) savings accounts are pretty dormant.

Still wating for the points to be added.
It will be difficult for me to correlate the points with the accounts.0 -
With hindsight, I should have made a note of the time I added each one, as mine tracked 24 hours after adding.noh said:

Some are clear, e.g. when 2 X current (2 X 500) and 2 X Savings (2 X 100) are all tracked at the same time.
But is a shame that it isn't clear which accounts are contributing and which aren't.
The spending tracking gives a clue, but seems unstable.
Will also be interesting to see if activity on existing 0 point accounts triggers points being added.
Will monitor for a few days, then review linked accounts.
First reward has arrived though, 36 hours after redeeming (which was another 24 hours after adding accounts)0 -
The tax position on the money seems unclear, is it 'interest' so comes off the personal tax allowance, or income so needs to declared or just like PB wins?

Just converted points to £50. 24 hours since registering accounts.0
