Or you can just leave the accounts there in situ, let them naturally expire in 90days time and then re authorise to get the same value points again.
Are you certain that you actually get another lot of points every 90 days, for the same accounts? That would be like a money printing machine......
100% certain, been doing it for quite a while now.

In fact I'm not actually sure you can revoke as when you add you authorise 90 days access. They will send you an e-mail requesting re-authorisation just before expiry.

Be aware that if you run into any difficulties, customer service can be terrible.
I added 2 current accounts (Lloyds and Halifax) a month or so ago and the points were not added despite the accounts being active. I contacted CS and got no reply, so I contacted the CEO (the only other address I could find), and got no reply. This thread has reminded my I still have not got the points! I think I'll contact the Market Research Society - I've seen this can sometimes get results

Why is it called yougov?  It's as if it's trying (like a scammer) to sound like a government agency when it's not.

    Possibly I'm just too cynical?

...As soon as you have 5,000 points, you can request a payout. Payouts can be bank transfers into one of your current accounts, or £50 vouchers for Amazon, Tesco, John Lewis,TK Maxx and many more known brands.

Worth noting (at least when I last tried doing it) YouGov may say they need extra personal information from you (for AML reasons) before they will make good on the payment.  For some people that won't matter, but for others who might sign up using minimal personal information for privacy reasons, the AML information required to cash out might be an issue.

It would be interesting to know which payout method you used Band7 and what (if anything) extra they asked you for as confirmation.
I have been doing yougov surveys for a few years and had a few £50 rewards

They have never asked me for any extra personal information

I have always had it paid into my current account, no problems
Perhaps you'd already given them sufficient details (as per Band7's reply) when you signed up to YouGov, so they didn't need to ask again?

Address and DoB were probably the ones I baulked at providing.
Could you give mock details for address and dob? Though I guess they can see your address when they access your account anyway?

It looks like I've started something here doesn't it?

Just opened another 3 current accounts, taking me to 24 and counting. Shall link them all up after I've bounced some money through them. Now opened 5 Club Lloyds savers as well, taking my total number of bank accounts into 3 figures.

Virgin Money doesn't seem to connect to this for me. When I try to connect the Virgin Money accounts it takes me to the login page asking for different log in information than I have for my online banking.   I'm guessing that they link you to one of the different online banking platforms they use for their older YB customers or something.
Seems we need Clydesdale or YB for the Virgin current accounts. I have sent a msg to yougov to get this fixed . I still have dozens of VM accounts, would be lovely to get them added…..

I can't tell you why they chose to call it yougov when they founded the company 23 years ago. But yes, I think you are too cynical on this occasion.

Although I successfully added my current and credit card accounts for the HSBC Group banks, I too failed to get past the VM login procedure - it asked for a seven-digit customer number (my PC browser on-line screen asks for a ten-digit number) and warned that I'd need to verify login with my mobilephone!  If I can't add VM accounts, that'll be a blow because I've a stack of now-empty VM current acounts from the days when their 2% interest rate was attractive.

Update: I successfully got access to my list of TSB accounts, but it failed with an error after I'd selected all my old current, savings & credit-card accounts with a message to try later!

I concluded that as they said they needed the information for AML reasons, giving anything other than the correct details might cause problems that exceeded the worth of the £50 I'd earned.

This could also be an issue for anyone who did sign up to YouGov giving any mock details - such things are quite common I've heard - because of the potential mis-match when/if the details are checked later.

I didn't provide anything other than true information, but provided only the minimum necessary.  If I knew personally identifying information would be required to cash out, I would have been more selective in the surveys I did, and/or more selective in answering some of the optional questions asked.

I'd be Ok giving YouGov access to bank account information on an anonymous basis - but not where that information can be linked to my postal address, full name, DoB (and therefore mother's maiden name) and other details which would be of use to a fraudster if they obtained access to the information.
  • Just re authorised my accounts, nice easy £20 worth of points.
