I had over 40 accounts previously which expired last week. I decided to delete them all and then add back 10 which were actively used (8 current accounts and 2 credit cards) last Friday. Rewards available dropped from 10 to 0. 5000 points arrived Saturday. Requested £50 on Sunday and it was in my bank account on Monday.
Retired 1st July 2021.
This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."2 -
Something weird is going on with the £50 I got from yougov yesterday lunchtime into my Santander 123 Lite. It shows in my balance but not in my balance incl pending. If I want to transfer out the £50, I go overdrawn. I don't know whether this is a bug in Santander or whether there's something funny about payments from yougov. Anyone else seen similar? I have never noticed anything like this in years of using the 123 Lite.0

Perhaps a £50 temporary debit card hold?

After a couple of long, circular phone conversations with very evasive Santander CS people, it transpires that Santander are making security checks on that incoming £50 from yougov. Apparently it is a legal requirement that they make random checks on the source of incoming payments, and they are not allowed to tell their customers that they are making those checks blah blah blah. I can't help the feeling that my 'beautiful' relationship of over 12 years with Santander might be over before long.
EDIT 20 April 09:10 : as of this morning, the payment seems to now have cleared for good.2 -

Could somebody please remind me what the rewards are on Yougov Safe?
I'm (hopefully) having my PC looked at 2mrw as I need it for certain surveys, if the rewards are worth it I may try it but as my PC is temperamental at the best of times it needs to be worth it.0 -

For your protection and the bank’s protection, we may place an extended hold on some deposits for up to 5 business days after the business day of your deposit. If we do, we will notify you. When this occurs, funds placed on an extended hold will generally be available on the 6th business day after the business day of your deposit.
If funds from a recent deposit are needed for a transaction, we recommend that you always check your available balance before making purchases, writing checks, or scheduling electronic payments.
Example: I make a deposit on a Tuesday, and an extended hold is placed on my deposit. As long as there are no holidays, the funds will be held for 5 business days (Wed, Thu, Fri, Mon, Tue) after the business day of the deposit. Therefore, the funds would be available on the 6th business day, which, in this scenario, would be the following Wednesday.Definitely, must be U.S site, as they spelled cheques as checks.
A bit odd that the U.S.A. Santander website has this for the public to see, whereas I've not found anything similar on the Santander U.K. website.
Could it be a simple explanation as, in the U.S. bank or financial institution is allowed to tell the customer their funds are held for AML whereas in the U.K they are not? But then, the above quote doesn't say the funds are on hold held due to AML reasons, they've said it in a roundabout way. How come UK Santander can't do the same?

Problem with HSBC group accounts seems to have been fixed as of today. I've managed to add mine on the first attempt this evening.
