Well that was a bit of a week. Having sorted out the missing laptop charger and received a new one from Amaz00 yesterday evening, rolling back - the student took forever. Rushed home for my drum lesson, stopping at a layby en route to message drum teacher to say I was running late. Mr N had made me a coffee which I threw into a go-cup, grabbed drum stuff, bundled pilates gear into a bag for a new class. Made it to drumming late but had a good lesson. Made it on time to new pilates class, got out and noticed that I hadn't packed a towel, so couldn't shower. Breathe. I already had the car booked in for a service in Feb, with a request to look at the clutch which was playing up. I'd noticed in the last 3 or so days that the brakes seemed odd and I thought I heard a noise. Driving home from uni I decided it couldn't wait till Feb. Reversed onto my drive after pilates I couldn't get the blighter out of reverse gear. Mr N tried, eventually succeeded, took it for a short drive and said the brakes needed sorting asap. Rang garage who are going to look at it on Monday, hopefully. Went to email uni to tell them not to fill the 'available' day next Wed in case I didn't have a car.....to find they had just, half an hour previously, booked me a student for Wed. The 3rd hassle of the week was all my fault - started to make progress with student reports to find I'd left the paperwork for yesterday's student at uni......aaagh.....and no car to collect it (16miles away). Luckily Mr N and I were due to meet a friend 5 miles in the right direction, so he kindly offered to either take me, or for me to drop him at friend's so I could take his car to uni. Cue frantic logging on to new uni parking system to register his car for a parking permit.
So I don't think any of that counts as much flying but it was jolly stressful.....however I did do one load of washing, one DW full and put away, a load of wudupa and caught up with some emails. Went to Mr T for a few things on our way home from uni. Planning next week around what I need to pinch Mr N's car for which is essential (uni and dental hygienist) and what might be nice (gym swim) without interfering with his gym/voluntary work/anything else. It certainly makes me feel very dependent; I like living in a village but there are about 2 buses per day just between 2 local towns.
Have a good weekend everyone. We still have wind and rain but supposedly we may get sleet on Monday. We have just borrowed a thermal camera to try and find where the 'cold spots' in our house are so we can do something about them.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Sorry for not posting this earlier. I texted Dizzy this afternoon and said we hoped she was not up to her waist in water again. She said that the water was all around in the fields, but the barriers were holding so far, and she was (I quote) "a bit tired" after river watching for 48 hours. Keeping my fingers and everything else crossed for them.
Glad you felt the Flylady love, YL x
I was glad that the dog walker came this morning and gave Rosie a good walk, as I've not felt up to going out myself today. I must ask DH to hoover the LR tomorrow as Rosie has been shedding hair again.10 -
Narco.. we have car issues in my family too.. my mother car just flunked its MOT and willbe £800 to repair and DD1's useless idiot ran his to death without filling the oil so it dragged all the junk and globs of oil jelly through the engine and will be £1000 to repair.. I hope yours is at least affordable.. between the 2 they have 2 magic beans and broken mop! A thermal camera sounds fun! I know where my main cold issues are.. the front door and the back door and the huge front bay which together will be about £5000 to replace.
Tomorrow we have dance class, swimming, spam and maybe a trip to buy food.

Morning all,
I’m listening to the wind and rain, having my first cuppa, and trying to muster enthusiasm and energy. At least I am dressed, I suppose.
Clean washing folded, I need to strip DD’s bed so that it is done until the next visit especially as I have a wm slot for the bedding. Vacuum cleaner needs trundling around, bathroom needs a clean. Now whether I actually do any of that is debatable. Dinner is the bacon joint which I bought for Christmas, and I will sling that in the sc later. I’m not doing badly so far on NSDs, about 8 I think, although I did do a Mr M shop which I was trying to avoid for January. Thank you to ASB for for challenging us to think about this. It does help not living near shops and also working surrounded by fields!
Feeling your car pain, Narc0. It was my clutch which pushed me to getting my car last summer, when I really didn’t want to be spending that money.Second cuppa brewing. Hugs to all, especially those who have had a tough week, or have a tough weekend ahead x7 -
Morning my lovelies xx
Has anyone seen my mojo? Or my guag? They must have run away while I was patrolling WAC. Or maybe I just used them all up this week. 🤷♀️
Anyhoo. I'm up, made my bed, taken my meds, opened the curtains and I've supped my first brew. Oh and I opened the bathroom window a tad as it smelled fusty in there.
It's grey and raining again. But I'm not going anywhere so that's OK.
On a positive note I coped well with my first full days back at the paid stuff. No one was pinned to the wall. No dead bodies to hide. 😉
Feargal now starts the first time every time. Touch wood. You don't realise how wonderful that is after months of will it / won't it.
Another brew and breakfast then I'll plan a Round, otherwise I'll end up somfadn.
Love to all.
Thank you for my card and chocolate coin Narc0 - 😊 xx

Morning all.
pleased you haven’t committed murder, Round
Been coughing and have a runny nose, but no temperature so I don’t need to do anything chemo wise. I will need to vacuum my bedroom carpet…combed the locks as I had bed head and lots dropped out. I was considering washing it but I think I had better leave it.
going to have a potter about this weekend, and hopefully get into my eBay account and list some crap sought after collectibles. and get my spreadsheet up to date. Marmalade labels printed so they need applying to jars.

Bathroom swish and swiped, kitchen sink scrubbed, kitchen floor swept and washed. We have neighbours coming in for lunch today, so needs must. I'm not particularly houseproud but there are limits.Sorry you had such a stressful day Narco. Things seem to pile up sometimes like that and the knock on effect is difficult to unpick.Better is good enough.6

I'm dressed, fed the birds, put out the rubbish and recycling, sorted the laundry, and set first load swishing.

Well…..DH wielded the vacuum cleaner downstairs!! That’s a sight that I haven’t seen for years. I was in danger of pointing out how he wasn’t doing the job “properly”, so took myself off to clean the bathrooms in case he sulked and stopped. I took over control of the vacuum cleaner upstairs, so the result is that the whole house has actually been cleaned. After a fashion.DD’s bed changed, bedding washed along with the bath mat, which might take until spring to actually dry. I have just hd a rummage through a drawer in the LR, and spotted a few things which can leave the house. Ferrllinnggg.6
