Busy but lovely day at work. I feel a bit under the weather so the fire is lit and pie is in the oven. The fire is still howling and it is sleeting. I am looking forward to spring and daffodils. Lots of other things / plans / thoughts on my mind. An early night with John Seymour I reckon. Take care all xx

Nothing much flywise to report. Thai green curry for dinner, as I had made some for DD to freeze, so kept some for our dinner tonight. Nice to not have to think about cooking after a Thursday at work. Kitchen tidied, WULTD. DH popped into Mr M and Mr L on his way home from office. No marmalade oranges, but he did bring home a bunch of daffodils which are now in a bright jug in the kitchen to brighten up this miserable  day.

another covid test done, another -ve result but I was up the hospital for an ultrasound on my shoulder and I’m croaking like a bullfrog.  Throat sore.  Went to wrong place (got muddled with next weeks physio venue) but I remembered where I needed to go and got there in time.  Slight damage to bone, apparently expected, but othe4wise ok.  Plus it didn’t hurt when scanner pressed to joint.  I saw my muscles *insert impressed smiley* they looked good (to me lol).  I’ll probably test again tomorrow as I’m up there again.  

Vacuumed bedroom (hair).
Finally sent complaint to Mr Ms re short dated stuff in pre Christmas click and collect order.
Need to look for chemo headband.  Suspect it’s joined DDs black socks, but I’ll need it next week.

Thank you Natty and Narco.  I had to hand over the chocolate dubloon to Belovéd for doing me a massive favour, and because I'm trying desparately to cut out everything sugary for a few days each week after a very indulgent Christmas, New Year and Belovéd's birthday, but it was much appreciated.  Lovely card, too.

Foodbank shift done, and discussion had with one of the managers.  We have three months to go to the end of the financial year and we have already fed as many adults and children as we did in the previous financial year.  35% of the children in this city live in food poverty.  How is that acceptable in one of the richest countries in the world?

Quick dip into Mr L on the way home to pick up a few things we needed, so not a NSD but only bought things that were on the list.  That must be a first for me.  Thank you ASB for doing your NSD January - it's making me really think about why and what I spend money on in the supermarket and as a result things are much more under control.

At a physio appointment this afternoon we worked out why I'm still limping.  Flat feet, so now I've got to flex my toes on each step - my right foot is aching tonight, but it is so worth it.  I know it's healing, I just want it to get better a bit faster and this will help.  I would so love to be able to hike in the spring.

I am glad it’s helping you HB. My purse is staying at home as a rule now which really helps when I’m out at the paid stuff.

Part of my work relates to child poverty and I too am consistently amazed and despairing of the situation we are in as a country. The work I do is total opposite to city work though - mine is food and fuel poverty in rural areas. The misconception that farming life is a rural idyl - no, it’s often frightening, always lonely and I know many who wonder how they will survive the rest of this winter financially.

Keep caring for each other, folks. I am grateful for the sanity, kindness and strength you offer me daily xx

Polly is demanding cheese from OH.. She is going to turn into a mouse! lol. Wensleydale with cranberry she is scarfing down!

The headache is stilll niggling, I think I might need to sleep. I will do a bit of knitting and then I am going to bed.

Well how a person is supposed to sleep with the wind howling like a banshee I don’t know.  Yesterday was bin day and some neighbours didn’t yet their bins in.  I rather think they’ll be struggling to find them in the morning.  Just hoping the Vallimobile has escaped unscathed.

It was wailing here too.. I could sleep through a brass band and stampeding elephants... it seems a lot less wild this morning thankfully.

Third attempt at delivering my parcel to my 'too hard to find' house.. but Tim is delivering it and he has been before.. he brought my B0d£n parcel last week (Love their sales!) so I KNOW he can find it. Ricky and Dave are just lazy or stupid.

Girls deposited.. my tummy feels better *note to self : remove favourite C&O crisps from the list of things I can eat! My headache is niggling but barely noticable thankfully.

Todays fun things..

1. Bag Meems stuff to drop at my sisters on Sunday.
2. Bag remaining stuff she doesn't want to drop at CS on Monday.. or Saturday I suppose.. we need a tip run too
   
3. Swap lights on the egg chair since OH broke them not being careful.. good job they were only £1.75!!!
   
4. list 5 things on V!nted or I am not allowed any cups of tea (after this first one) until it is done.

6. 2x DW
7. airer shuffle.
8. Gather laundry from the front room.
9. Boss Moomin to bring washing out of bathroom. They can clean the bathroom too.. I have a new scrubby thing I want to try on the ceiling mouldy bits

11. Nag Boog for quids and boss to pick up prescription.. I went out of my way to collect the emergency one yesterday so they can get the other one today themselves.
    
12. Look at ordering DS2's birthday/christmas present.. it isn't cheap and is what he wants and he is paying some towards it.
13. Begin hunt for 1 KS bed, a white or pink wardrobe, a black DW and a 60cm electric cooker.. Preferably all free.. We like a challenge in here!
    

OH has an egg chair to build and litter trays to scoop.

ASB well done, I am waving from the side lines, I have only bought basic fresh stuff this week, OH is away, back tonight, so I need to go and get milk and bread.

Anyone in contact with DIzzy? I just hope her house, land, and family are ok with all the photos I have just seem of deep  flooding in her area.

Sorted out water butts again, as water overflow is flowing / was down the side of the house, todays mission is to sort out a solution once and for all........... off to google / freecycle / thinking cap on, what ever it must not cost too much as it is not budgeted in, gardening budget doesn't start until March, even then it is only £50 for the whole year. Idea maybe join 2 butts together...................

Sent OH a message to see what time his ETA tonight is, and does he want to eat......so far no reply.
