All those wipes for any type of cleaning are single use plastic and should be avoided. Unbleached bamboo toilet paper in our house.

I saw an advert for a product this week that you squirt onto regular toilet roll.  It then behaves like a wet wipe, but isn't one.   I thought that was quite a good idea but I can't remember where or when I saw it.

Glad we've got that sorted...I was expecting someone to come in with the old "wire brush and Dettol" joke...   :)

Entertaining thread, even if we didn't get much closer to the answer - except that if I can afford such a piece of equipment, it appears I shouldn't need to ask about the running cost!  :)
Not having a plug on it also means I won't be able to easily figure out how much electricity it uses either. Will just have to enjoy having a warm bum and everything else taken care of!

You can get energy monitors that clip round the cable or wired inline - I like the Peacefair range as they are cheap and offer a number of interface options (use the PZEM-016 & PZEM-04 hooked up to Home Assistant). The PZEM-022 may well be a better option for most..
But do be warned, these things eat electricity. 200W for the warm air, ~1KW for the hot water, and 50W for the seat.

Her courage will change the world.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

It's really just the seat running cost that concerns me. The hot water and warm air are only on demand and we don't normally make that many visits to the loo in a day!
Even at just 50W for the seat, it will add up if on constantly. We have concluded we might only need it in the cooler 6 months of the year. Can see the wife desiring that warm feeling all year round though!

Some have an automatic lid that lifts when you walk in. Wife thinks it's cool but I can't see the point of it - how can it tell if you want the lid and seat raising, or just the lid? ;)
Grandchildren would probably get lots of entertainment figuring out how to sneak into the bathroom without the toilet spotting them though!
It would be easy enough to supply it with a phone app that can be programmed to the appropriate gender settings. Assuming you take your phone with you to the loo. But I suppose the risk then is the fear that the Chinese could hack into every toilet in the country and lock the lids down...

Wouldn't just be the Chinese. I can imagine the attraction to junior hackers the world over to take control of toilets wherever they might be.  :D
Even if you are identified as a male approaching, do you also have to show your intention of number one or two?  :)
