I forgot to update so at least you haven't had to suffer me for the last few days :)

I'm declaring a further £170.37 added into the OP savings pot which is made up mainly of £120 chippy earnings, £35 interest, £10 NSD;s and have to be honest not sure where the rest came from but it's in the pot and is being counted :)

My total now stands at £12174.79/£47300 = 25.73%

So close to reaching that next 0.75 percent - fingers crossed I will make it very soon but with my daughter home from Uni I very much doubt it as she seems to be spending our money like water ;)

    Well done @craftingmad
Your hard work at the chippy is paying off. Good to have a specific use for it.
    I’m now at £763 of £4922 paid off i.e. 15.50%
As this particular debt doesn’t attract interest I have limited motivation to pay it off quickly, although not having it to repay will be a huge relief when I eventually get there.

Thank you. It's certainly hard work but I keep in mind what the money is being used for and it seems to help me :)
Totally get you regarding your interest. I think I'm lucky (not sure if that is the right word!) because although our mortgages are currently on low fixed rates, I know that when these run out that the rate will jump hugely and so my motivation is to get as much money saved to pay these off so when the time comes as we can so it is not quite so much of a shock to our finances.

That and we are not getting any older ;)

You are doing brilliantly just as you are but how about if you set yourself little goals and rewarded yourself each time you met them (maybe at each £1k?). That way you have a little motivation to achieve?

    Good luck x

I LOVE the first day of a month as it means I usually get to transfer some money out of our account and into the OP savings pot thanks to hubby's hard work with overtime.
£1000 has just been moved (we have a week away at the end of this month so could have transferred a bit more but decided to wait and see how much we spend whilst we are on holiday) so that should help my percentages move by another couple of %.

My total now stands at £13174.79/£47300 = 27.85%

Only 0.15% (£69.21) to go before we hit the 28% mark - wahooo ;)

I totally hear you about setting myself targets/rewards @Craftingmad
The issue I have is that my mortgage tracks the base rate, which was brilliant until the last year or so, so I’ve been trying to give the mortgage overpayments a bit of priority.
What you are doing is ‘Fixing the roof while the sun is shining’ by knocking your mortgage balance down before your rate goes up.
When you say ‘We’re not getting any older’ I assume you meant ‘We are not getting any younger’?  ;)
If you actually aren’t getting any older please send me your secret as I keep seeing this grumpy middle aged man staring back at me when I look in the mirror and I could do with stopping the greys multiplying  :)
