I did enjoy The Drifters Girl. I’ve seen them many times over the years since the 70’s and love their music - it’s real ‘feel good’ music. I didn’t know much about the earlier story though. I do think the story telling could have been better in the show as I was a tad confused at times BUT we had slightly restricted views and there was a lot of projected words at the back of the stage which helped tell the story and  we could only see half of 😏 Can’t complain though as the tickets were a birthday gift and it’s an old theatre -  we could see everything at the front of the stage perfectly. The atmosphere and music were fantastic - a real spirit lifter….or maybe the bottle of Prosecco we shared helped 😂😂 I ate, drank and spent too much….but enjoyed my day. We ended up in a restaurant next to the theatre and it was full of 20 somethings….loud music and burger sort of place 😂😂😂😂 we were the eldest in there and I just about managed to get up on the chair 😂😂 it was a great atmosphere though and we showed us grannies still have it….interestingly the music was all from the  60s and 70s……
I went to ds on Sunday for a delicious dinner and we made raspberry jam from the frozen fruit he has collected from his garden. He’s had a bumper crop this year and still has fruit on his canes.
Yesterday I went to aqua with a friend who is having swimming lessons at my gym…..I was incredibly proud of her as she would have froze at the thought of exercising in water before she started  the lessons 3 weeks ago….I’m really hoping she gets to swim as she has tried lessons many times - if she doesn’t crack it this time at nearly 65 I suspect she’ll call it a day.
I blitzed the living room when I got home…..polished brass ornaments, washed the others and took all the  dvds down  and washed the glass shelves. This used to be a summer holiday job and I haven’t deep cleaned the shelves since I had surgery 3 years ago….I’ve dusted around but not actually cleared the shelves. It looks so much better now. Today I’m not doing a lot as I’m tired and I’m meeting a friend tomorrow 😁 so want to conserve my energy so I’m fighting fit.
I need to do do some number crunching and pay my cc off. I usually pay over the statement amount and completely clear it but this month I suspect I’ll just pay the full statement amount so I don’t get charged interest and pick the rest up next month. I might need to take some from my savings account to pay towards the birthday celebrations next month for Dh. This is fine as it is what I’ve been saving for. I had hoped to manage by keeping the savings in tact but pretty sure I’ll have to bolster my current account up.

So much for a lazy day. I have defrosted my fridge and freezer and all my cutlery and glasses are in the dishwasher…..I’ve washed the tray and cutlery drawer out along with my glass cupboard and am having a catch up tv session and rest whilst the dishwasher does it’s magic and the drawer is dry enough to put everything back. I have also decided to wash the ornaments in my big display cabinets and clean the glass doors - they are looking decidedly grubby in the autumnal sunshine which seems to show them off….and not at their best 😵‍💫 That will be my lot for the day. I started several weeks ago with the intention of a deep clean of my kitchen diner……I did 1 cupboard. I want  to finish it by the end of next week👍 I want to do the same for the bedrooms before we head off for Dh birthday mid November. No particular reason why I want it down by then but I work much better to a real deadline. Then when we come back I can play Christmas crafting 😃

Goodness me you don't stop do you! do try to remember to take a break and rest between everything you're doing won't you!

Sorry to hear how much your SIL is struggling now - that must be tough for you all to see, and what a good thing you were there to make sure she didn't drive when it wasn't safe too.

And massive kudos to your friend for persevering with the swimming - that's a big thing to tackle at any age!

I do a good chinese length!  We had lessons almost all the way through school, totally wasted on me & I was born in a house next door to an outdoor swimming pool.

I can’t swim. I hated swimming lessons at school and would do anything to get out of them, being wet + cold = no thanks. When I was 14 a random stranger picked me up and threw me in a river 🤬 I almost drowned which only exacerbated my fear of deep water.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
