Re the chinese length.  Think of written English left to right & chinese writing top to bottom.  Like SA I do not like water or being wet.  Thankfully no one was stupid enough to try throwing me in.  One of the advantages of being at an all girls school & both the biggest girl in the class & the gym teacher (female) fancying you.  I did have all day protection (from them not by them) & never ever took a shower after gym which wasn't exactly a punishment as it took me way too long to get dry.
It is funny my sister thinks I have led a really really boring life.  Just because she had friends under 18 obviously who went out with members of a famous pop group & seemed to take drugs all the time.  One of these days the dementia may cut in & tell her a few home truths but that would spoil the fun.

Interesting swimming stories or should I say non swimming stories. Being thrown in the pool would most certainly be abuse……how scary 😳 even scarier being thrown in a river 😳😳😳 I’m not a good swimmer…..hate getting my face wet and move across the pool in a fashion only known to myself…..can’t call it a stroke as such but I enjoy it.
Well life got in the way again and I never did get to meet my friend. I started with a horrible sore throat the previous day and didn’t feel quite right so I did a covid test which was negative. I was burning up all night and felt like death warmed up so I did another covid test the following morning……sure enough it was positive.  I slept on and off all day yesterday and haven’t been much better today The worse symptom is a sore throat from hell along with aches and pains. I’d done well dodging the lurgy for so long. All I can say if this strain is the milder one I’m just glad I didn’t have the more serious strain. I’m presuming the jab I had, hadn’t been in my system long enough to  ward it off.
I’ve thrown Dh into the spare room and am spending my time in the bedroom. I really hope he doesn’t catch it as he has a permanent nasty cough (it’s been checked out many times and they’ve put it down to some sort of asthma)
I had a phone appointment with the ankle consultant earlier….one advantage of phone calls was I didn’t have to cancel and I
could croak enough for her to understand me 👍 The upshot is they would usually fuse my ankle with this stage of degeneration but because of the bone condition I have the surgery isn’t suitable….I’m pleased and disappointed at the same time.  She is sending me to try an ankle brace that will hold my foot in the same position as the surgery would. She was a lovely doctor and must have been about half an hour on the phone explaining things. I suspect this will have a bigger impact on the shoes I can wear than the implants I already have.
On a plus note I had my cc statement and I’d paid more than I’d remembered last month knowing I had a heavy month this month  so it isn’t as drastic as I’d imagined money wise. Annnnddddd being laid up in bed means I haven’t spent any cash for the last few days.

You might be surprised at how thin the ankle thing is. I had one & was amazed.

Thanks Beanie….I’m not sure what to expect re the ankle brace. I know I’ve worked with many kids with moulded ones that are knee high…..not sure if that’s what they have in mind. When I looked online they looked very cumbersome. I never thought to ask how long the waiting list was either.

    Hope you get better soon.

If it is any consolation at all. I have found this dose of Covid far milder than the one I had in 2021!

Would still rather not have it of course 🤣🤣🤣

On the plus side at least we are not missing anything weather wise.

Relieved Sheffield I’m glad I didn’t have the earlier version then. I do feel slightly more human today so hopefully it’s on its way out. Dh has nipped out so I went downstairs and pottered around for about 10 minutes and emptied a bin outside…..anti baxing after myself as I went 😏I was glad to get back upstairs. It’s 10 days between me having the jab to showing symptoms - 😂😂 and I was bragging to a friend who had the jab on the same day as me and  was floored for 48 hours how I’d not had any reaction to the jab…..maybe I’d have been better off 😵‍💫 it’s fascinating how it affects folk in different ways.
Not much to report - I’m getting fed up of tv still feel too achey to knit for longer than about 5 minutes. Fed up is a good sign though shows I’m wanting to get going again 😁 I’m going to see if I get into reading my book for a while.

When I had COVID I couldn't concentrate on the TV so I ended up listening to a variety of things on BBC sounds.
