Yes Foxgloves you most definitely need to be able to walk into the pantry.
I went to a knit and natter group yesterday evening. It was a lovely change. I’ve met some of the people before at U3A it made a nice change from sitting in front of Dh choice of tv 😂😂😂 I tend to let him watch his documentaries in the evening until 9 when we choose something to watch together…..usually in bed 😂😂 and I catch up in the daytime anything I’ve missed earlier in the evening. I am conscious I have all the time in the world to watch and do what I want whereas he is still at work making life financially easier for us. Who knows I might even get a cardigan I’ve started knitted finished rather than it sitting with the mound of unfinished projects I’ve started.
    Items I need to finish…..
    - big turquoise crocheted shawl I started several years ago in hospital…..nearly finished as I re discovered it when teaching U3A crochet
    - crocheted navy cardigan…..back and 2 fronts done
    - crocheted granny square blanket….I started this to show U3A crochet
    - Christmas wreath I started last year but ran out of time
    - Knitted jumper I started then discovered it was going to be a tad tight around the tummy…..I’m going to change it to a cardigan - back and a sleeve are finished
    - Knitted cardigan I started whilst waiting for the recent test results
    - I’ve promised both granddaughters a small crocheted cat - they’re only tiny and just 1 piece, so won’t take long and will use up some of my stash. I’ll take them with me when I go in October.
Mmmmmmmm…….seeing that written down has spurred me on to finish them.
First task turquoise blanket as it’s very close to being finished…..no idea what I’m going to do with it. I might donate it to the hospital where I had my arm sorted as if it hadn’t have been for them, I wouldn’t be knitting or crocheting. I’m not back there until summer though and it’d cost a bomb to post.
    2nd task cats for gdds
3rd task to finish the Christmas wreath as that is nearly done and Christmas is just around the corner 😳😃👍
It’s not very MSE having so many unfinished projects. I will not start anything new until I’ve finished.

Oh how sad, never mind.  Strikes aren't all bad!

  • I like that crochet cat.

A good idea to finish those projects. With the shawl do you know somebody who would appreciate for Christmas or their birthday?

When you have finished the wreath could you post a picture for us to admire?

Enjoy the extra extra day with dd.

Good to see you Baileys Babe. Yes I’ll post a picture when the wreath is finished…..it’s got a couple of snowmen on it. I took the pattern from a book I bought last year.
The pattern for the cat was online.

  • Another one here who'd be interested in a pic of the wreath when you're done! (And you've given me an idea there too - except that I MUST finish the thing I'm working on before starting something else!)

I'm actually knocked sideways by the brutality of the attack that your Great Nephew (? I think!) faced - and I have to say that sounds to me as though it ought to be escalated to the police, assuming that there is even a chance of identifying the culprits (and quite frankly even if not - as someone will know who it was, and it's surprising how fast people talk when faced with a dark blue uniform and a stern expression). It was an assault, simple as that, and a serious one too if it resulted in those sorts of injuries. I echo what some others have said in hoping that the school are also taking decisive action.
