So good news of yesterday was that Jysk gave me a new blind so that was really lucky as I did muck it up myself but it was difficult. Next time I will be more careful and make sure I get that little grub out. I will do it with DG so we can both make sure we do it right.
I went to the creative cafe last night there were 11 other women and the host. 4 of us were knitting the rest doing other things. The host was really nice and the cakes she had made were amazing. She only charges £6 for the session and as I said the cakes were divine and there was coffee and tea. DG might come next time it is a good way to meet local people. Half were my age and the other half younger.
Tonight it is the cinema but they are expecting heavy snow from midday so we shall see. When I drove back last night I spotted there are two mechanics on the main road and the one I have the car booked into is a lot further. Only 0.6 mile but I have to drop it off at 7.30am and although it is -1c it feels like -12c. I might have to take my nieces electric scooter they are legal here.
I also got the curtains hemmed yesterday so that can now come off the to do list one of the things that has been there forever so that was nice.
I also managed to invest some more money into the global fund so that is now all done for now. I want to leave a bit of money in the UK just in case but once I need to pay for the rest of the kitchen when I might need it.
DG has picked up a case for me to work on in the new business so that exciting. I also have to do her accounts today which helps her out. Her part time job is still causing a lot of stress this is also the one she has to travel to the UK for in a couple of weeks. I found her a suit on Vinted (brand new) and the seller knocked 10% off. I really hope it fits.
I think that is it I best get on and measure up for the calk board in the utility room. Have a lovely Thursday.

Morning we got a lot more snow yesterday roughly 15cm so we cried off helping at the cinema we really do not have the boots and clothes to walk up there and the roads were not passable down here. Then this morning I woke up to a tractor digging us out I am guessing the building site needed access so that was really handy as DG has her haircut this afternoon. I did have to shovel snow from our paths this morning and behind the car or we would not have been able to get out. The cats are so unimpressed with the snow so I have made a path to their favourite 💩place. I had to chuck Ginger out last night and this morning or he refuses to go out just cries and cries and he wont go in a litter tray so not worth trying that. When I chuck him out he does go and rushes in.
I can now order the yarn I need but they replied saying they could send it to me so I might hold off a bit longer. I still have a few bits left I can use.
I almost finished my chalk board in the utility room but then I pulled the masking tape off at the wrong angle so I have to reply and add more paint. I only used 1 tub of the paint but it only just was enough. We might do a second board somewhere else I really like the look as the house has white walls everywhere.
Today I am going to get the posts ready for Monday for the marketing push. Tomorrow we have our ink blowing session hoping to make a picture for the bedroom. We also have the cinema now on Sunday which is actually much better.
Right I think that is it for this morning I need to get on with some work.

Morning Monday again and a good and a bit bad weekend. Saturday morning my sister got a call from a ambulance crew they were at my mums but she would not go to hospital. Her friend had found her in her house and got the key out of the keylock. I then spoke to her several times and suddenly I got a call from the ambulance crew they were at her house again and the friend had told them how to get in. Not really sure how they got recalled but they took her to hospital as she was not able to refuse. It looks like it is her Addison that is playing up again and she is now being looked after and my sister and I are going over to see her in a bit. Really scary but at least I was a lot closer. We could have Saturday but I had the ink blowing course and I am glad we got to go as it was so much fun.
As you know I have lots of creative hobbies, sewing and knitting being the main two. DG can draw but doesn't do it a lot but it is one of the only things that relaxes her. We both loved the ink blowing and we had planned to use it to make to prints for our bedroom. After the course we ordered a load of stuff and are now ready to play further and I really think it will be something we can do together or at least DG can pick up and relax with.
We spent most of Sunday getting the blind up in the office and got the hat display up as well they both look good but the blind was a real pain to do.
Sunday evening was cinema and it was a thriller neither of us really wanted to see but it was so good with a fab twist. It was also really handy as our neighbour who does a lot of the volunteering was showing someone how to set it all up and then the people who was actually volunteering that night both failed to show up so DG and I could help. We also met another volunteer who was really nice. Feeling more part of the community.
Took the car in this morning and walked the 1km back in the snow. DG will pick it up this afternoon as my sister is picking me up in a min and then we shall stay at mums until Tues or Weds. I do hope we can go back and I can do my Tues class. We shall see depend on mum.

Just posted my Monday post it’s now Tuesday and I’m at my mums at the hospital. She’s in isolation so if you go in the you stay and then when you leave you have to leave fully. My sister is with my dad who was convinced he needed to move yesterday and started packing. The joys of dementia.
Dg is stressed about work but her trip to the UK is now all sorted. I’ve ordered my yarn it was cheaper to get it to the UK and it was also on sale on that site. Hopefully it matches.
Got the suit for dg off Vinted it looks really nice and was less than £60 brand new.
I bought a new knitting project at the weekend but you have to wind the skein so waiting for the right tools to do that.
I’ll sadly miss my new jumping class tonight hopefully dg will go. Car all fixed so that’s a relief. Lovely lokal mechanic really happy to have found his. Still need to get on with my to do list especially getting some to fit my hot tap.

Thanks Vandanfc and Daisy
Morning I am back it was 12 hour days and a lot of work but it was great being with my sister and of course my parents. My mum is back out of hospital which is good and we sorted her house out so it is a lot easier for her. She is very independent and stubborn and that is only going to get worse as dementia takes hold. My gran had it so I know the signs sadly and my dad has it too. My mum basically got the flu and pneumonia at the same time and then her Addison kicked in and she got very ill. We are certain she spent Thursday until she was found on Saturday in bed not eating drinking or taking her meds. Not good but she is convinced she took them all. I will have to make sure I speak to her more often and now her other local friend knows how bad it got so she can do the same.
My sister decided yesterday just as I had driven up to get my mum that my dad had to have a new TV as the remote did not work. It is ancient but it is not easy for a 89 year old with dementia to work a new TV. We did my some miracle get it installed using his cable TV and no internet. My dad has never even used a computer or even a smart phone. We shall see or I will have to go and get one of those basic remotes for older people and install that.
I managed to sign for the land purchase while over there and I am just about to pay for it now. it cost £6500 in total half of it being the legal fees so very happy with that.
In order business news I posted a post on our old UK facebook group like I do every week. It is the one you have to post as yourself. I got so many comments because two people had an argument on it but someone contacted me and this might be our first client via the new set up. I am so pleased with that. Sadly DG is still super stressed and they have taken on more work now so its only going to get worse. This is her part time job which I think she needs to quit and just do her own big cases and these smaller ones with me.
I am bringing back my to do list and having a special one for today.
Pay for car repairs
Pay for land

Glad to hear that mum is back home. Dementia is a horrible thing. My mother in law had to go into a care home as fil was no longer able to meet her needs.
Not sure if there is such a thing, but would a timed tablet dispenser work? Or if she has a phone that will send her a reminder to take her meds?

Thanks VandaFc luckily she is very IT savvy so does use her phone alarm and had tablet dispenser the problem was she was so ill she did not get out of bed for 3 days I recon. Not a good situation.
I am cracking on with the list:
I have paid the two bills and booked the heat pumps in for service. Still got lots to do but the motivation today is more for knitting than anything else really.

Morning I am up really early with DG but I cannot say I have been that effective so far who gets up at 5am. I got a few things done yesterday and my main bit today really is to find a plumber for the hot tap and make sure the electrician can sort out outside lights. Dg is off on Sunday and back Wednesday and my plan is to get ahead of the food prep for the big family party on Sunday week.
I ordered some blind accessories off Amazon that really is it now but it was such a good deal and you cannot get all the parts here for some reason or you have to order from different shops and pay postage for each one. Not MSE obviously. Our ink paper arrived today we are waiting for the colours and then the rest is coming to the UK.
I did chase the Bootcamp scammer and gave him to Monday to pay up or I will out him on social media. It is so annoying he was so flaky but I was also stupid to pay up front. Lesson learnt.
I bought some lovely pink yarn in a supermarket for £2.50 and I have almost complete the neck warmer. It is wool and bamboo so feels really lovely. I cannot wait to wear it. I am going to spend £6 on a new pattern for the sweater I bought the yarn for. I do not like the pattern I got for free with the yarn it looks really boxy and is just not me.
