Mortgage Free now aiming for FIRE

it must be even harder for DG that you have a nice day when she has so much stress. Bless her
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1 -
Thanks Watty I had not thought of that. She is better after effectively a day off and we have both been up really early today as the builder turned up at 7am to knockdown the top of the wall. It already is so much brighter now I am super please with it. It gives so much more light into the kitchen and it feels bigger too. Electrician is coming tomorrow so it is all go.
Went to the creative cafe last night DG did not go but it was really nice as there was just 4 of us so we had a good natter. I am progressing nicely with my sweater helped by Gemini when I get stuck. Much better to stick to patterns in English than Danish.
I have planned the marketing for the next 3 weeks now for all social media and our website. I do want to make some changes to our fixed prices but need DG to help with that. I do need some more for LinkedIn but it is coming together slowly.
We still need to work out how we best work together as DG did not see how I had asked questions around the document which is what I am used to with Google. We will sort that out.
I have a meeting in a minute and I do have work to get on with so best get going. Have a lovely Thursday hope the sun is shining where you are. We are going to finish early today and get out and play some golf. Not been for nearly 2 months so the clubs are getting a clean and we are off. Also need to do the shopping and collect my parcel later. My garden stuff is arriving today so hopefully will not need to be there for that. I do need a garden hose very soon.

Sorry I have been MIA no idea where time went but it has been fine except I now have a cold which is not helpful at all.
I had a lovely time with my friend on Friday it was so good to spend time with her and she loved the house. I must make more effort to see her when I visit my mum. She has also said she is happy to look into my mum if I'm worried again. IT is actually perfect as she is a nurse and she knows my mum well so hopefully no more refusing to go to hospital again.
Weekend was really good had a lovely day watching niece doing gymnastics and spending time with sister too. Then Sunday was the handball game and it was so so fun. We won the game and we sat right at the front on the corner so so close to the action. My mum said each time they were at the goal we were on telly. It was 30 min from us so really easy to get to. The food was even reasonable too unlike the gymnastics where a portion of fries were £8.
Monday the kitchen got delivered and the tap tomorrow is the worktop and then fitting Thursday and Friday. As it got delivered early DG and I decided to book a tee time and a buggy and finally play 18 holes. It was a glorious day and we bought sandwiches to take with us from the local supermarket. We even managed to take the rubbish to the dump.
In the garden lots has been ordered but not progressed that much. Over here we have these capillary boxes where you have a water storage system and a growbag on top for growing things on your patio. I have bought two in black with wheels I can then have on my patio. I thought where can I put them so they get max sun. I found the spot and looked up and there was 3 hooks right above it. Obviously someone else has used the same spot and grown tomato's there. Must be a good omen. Also got my favourite Dahlias I can grow in pots like I did in the UK. They will need to come in in Winter but luckily I have somewhere to store them. Might just have to hide it from DG she will not been keen.
We have a ladies meeting at the Golf Club on Sunday otherwise no plans. We do want to play golf if the weather is kind otherwise finally sort the kitchen, the utility room and all the draws out. Right now I need to get on with some work and I have a meeting in a minute too the cancelled one from last week. I will also need to update the list as there is more to go on it.

Quite a funny story really on delivery of our worktops. He called last night and asked if there was a man who could help carry them in. I said no but two ladies. It is a big worktop so I was not sure but he said he would make sure it got in. Then he called this morning saying he had gotten a local carpenter to come along and help him. Well there is only one as far as I know in this town and it was indeed our one who has been doing the new door and knocked down the wall for us. It is quite a big firm so he had not seen the work so it was nice showing it to him. He also still has a trailer out the front of ours. The delivery went smoothly and they look so good. Really work with the flooring in the rest of the house. Now it is just to get started tomorrow I cannot wait.
I have assembled my hose but I am not sure it is any better than what I had that was wall mounted. We shall see. I do still need to do the Dahlias and DG wants to play golf later she has been working since 4am but has just taken a break.
My cold is really not good I feel shattered so might have to take it easy today. I have completed the work I needed to do and DG has taken on a new client so there will be more to do soon. It is one of those we do not make as much money on but good for me to practise on.

Not a very happy TG as the kitchen fitter went off sick so I got a text saying sorry I am cancelling. He is doing it next Thursday so that means living with a 4 meter double width worktop in the lounge. Glad Danish houses are so large I could never have done that in my UK house. Rebooked the plumber so that is all fine but the electrician cannot come until after the weekend so a bit of a longer wait but at least we can sort the draws out next weekend. I do want to buy a dinning room table and I need to sell mine really. I kind of wish we had not brought it over but we did. There are a lot of trades in this areas which is why it was relatively easy to get them rebooked I think.
Anyway I will need to update my to do list and add next project which is getting my dads car registered to me. We have not got the V5 document it is most likely at his horrid girlfriends house so no chance of getting that. He has dementia and everything is digital here although he is exempt which means we cannot just order a new one online. There is also a problem that he opens his post box himself so if they send it to him he will see it and start going on about his car again (took months to get him to stop looking for it not helped my girlfriend either). My sister has agreed I can have the car but it has to registered in my name as currently my dad pays the insurance and tax but it is insured so anyone can drive it. However not ideal obviously.
Looked into swapping my license I think it is going to be ok without having to take a test. I have asked what I need to bring and then I will do it. Might just be ID and a photo but we shall see. Would be nice if I can drive a car with a trailer but if that means a test then I can live without it.
I have this annoying cold and I just feel like doing nothing which is not helpful. Luckily there is no work right now so that is really handy.

Morning, still got a cold and feeling a bit rough but it is Friday which is great. DG is still working quite silly hours but we are taking some time off today and going shopping for a dinning room table, chairs and lights. I know we were due to wait until it was installed but if we get the light they can be fitted Monday week so worth it. We have totally different tastes but this time I am thinking modern as pendant lights could block out the light. This one for the table and a smaller one for over the barista station. Then the table will be this one not sure of the chairs yet but likely like these could work or not sure as you have to sit in them and the handy thing is the table and chairs are in the same shop. Expensive but this is the last big house purchase. I do need to sell my old table though.
I have decided to let the carpenter firm build us a new bin storage cover. The one we have is rotten as the previous owners thought it was a good idea to grow ivy up on it. We now have 3 bins and it only stores 2 and it is right out the front so really looks a mess. The binmen takes it straight from the front so we never have to remember to put the right bins out which is why a cover is essential I think. We could have done it ourselves but digging the footings in and laying slabs is a step too far really. I have also got him to remove the old worktops as we simply could not have done that and the kitchen firm does not do this.
Got 2 letters from the police ref the bootcamp scammer just standard ones but there is a crime reference number so I will look into the bank option now.
I also built the cold frame and the potting bench yesterday it was not even that hard so now my dahlias can be nice and cosy. I did put the lid upside down on but I actually prefer it but I need to work out a way it can stay shut. The patio tiles get cleaned in 2 weeks so cannot really organise too much until then. It is really exciting though to see the garden wake up.
I need to make a shopping list for the things in IKEA and also the main shopping centre. I cannot be asked to walk around the whole store but we do need to swap the frames we bought for smaller ones. Hopefully DG will complete the set of pictures for the wall and we can get the bedroom ticked off.

Morning hope you had a nice weekend. Mine was spendy as we went to the main town and got a dinning room table and chairs plus a shelf for the coffee station. They were really comfy the chairs and looks classic in mainly mat oak and cognac coloured seats. Also the fabric does not let cat fur stick to it which is a plus. It was quite a laugh as across from the dinning table display were a sofa display in the shop of our sofa and coffee table.
Well I like it and I got £60 off each chair and free delivery with them carrying it all in for us. We also got the frames returned in IKEA and got the ones we needed for the bedroom and bar. When when we got home I found the perfect freezer in the same shop we had been in but they said they did not have anything in the size we wanted. Well they did and it is perfect and goes down to minus 16c so will work in the bar. It was £350 but it should now last and I bought extra warranty plus they will change the door over for us as it was such a faff to do last time I cannot face it again. I also ordered the lights they were quite a good price and will look great plus the electrician can hang them Monday week. This is now the last big expense indoors so that is a relief.
We did also get the Dfix on the two items that the projector stands on and it looks nice. Super cheap option too. We bought a cabinet that will work as a box over the project to protect it. Sadly it needs a grove cut in it for the wire which I am a bit scared to do. Hopefully the friendly carpenter will do it. We have handles to attach too. Once that is done the bar just need the 28 cupboards and draw front painting but that is an outdoor kind of job.
Right need to crack on as per usual. Take care all.

Morning another broken nights sleep with coughing and Dg is getting worse. She stopped worked really early yesterday and we went to find the local public beach which was nice but it started raining just as we got there.
We did go and get hotdogs from the supermarket they make them and they are just under £2 each so really cheap. We ate them in the car but hopefully when the weather gets better we can do that again and take them out somewhere. We did also find a restaurant we have seen signs for but it was not that exiting really.
I did get all the marketing done, the insurance reply, treated the table and listed it for sale but I did not get started on her registration so that has to be done today.
I really should get in the garden today I do love seeing it all come to life especially as I do not know what is what yet.

Morning feeling really rough now really wish this cold and chesty thing would just go away. I did go to jump+ yesterday and it was hard. In a way it was lucky that the instructor hurt her knee so we only did 45min.
I did do some gardening yesterday I got those pesky lavenders moved and I took out the ivy that had destroyed the bin cover. I do need to mow the lawn and I also want to cut the grass down by the apple trees.
I do have some work to do with DG today and I also have my haircut at 2pm so that is going to be nice.
DG still have not done the first part of the registration so I cannot get any further with that. It is getting quite urgent now but she is also feeling rough so that does not help.
Hope you all have a lovely day I am going to boil the fresh eggs i bought yesterday at jumping one of the ladies has chickens so they will be nice.

Morning we are up bright an early as workmen usually comes at 7am but maybe kitchen fitters are not part of that group at least were up though.
It is frosty here I really hope my cold frame as kept my plants nice and snug you can really feel the difference as a gardener here and in the South of England.
I did quite a bit in the garden yesterday I even got the area by the apple trees mowed and added some more mulch to the two raised meds I am going to grow veg and herbs in. The rosemary is dead so I need a new one but the other herbs are poking up even the lovage which is very exciting as I always wanted one. The snowdrops look amazing still I will divide them when they are done and move some to the front of the house. I think I am going to go with alstroemeria in dark orange with dark leaves for the front. We used to walk past a house in the UK that had that as the only thing out the front and I think it looked so good. It is not that frost hardy but hopefully if I really mulch it they will be ok. I might do a test first before I plant the entire front. Once the bin shed is done I can plant around that and I will definitely get some spring bulbs there. It will look so nice.
I cannot tell you have much I look forward to the kitchen being done by Monday, the furniture will all be in the lights hung (we have really struggled here in Winter with just a side light). I will probably need to paint the walls in the kitchen but that is fine it is not like I do not have plenty of time.
I spoke to my mum yesterday I suggested she takes the train over in a couple of weeks and then I go back with her and check on my dad and get stuff done for her. I do want to get back for my jumping class so it will only be overnight. I also have to swap cars with my sister so it is a bit of a hassle to be honest but it is not fair she aways has to do it. Hopefully I can investigate about my dads cars V5 and get that sorted at the same time.
I cannot wait to show the family my new kitchen either to be fair.
I love my new haircut she defintiely knew how to cut curly hair. In less great news I got turned down for the cashback on medication as I have been on a medication for over 1 year. Yes HRT can you believe it.
