    Thank you all much appreciated.

So I am back in the UK work laptop on and meant to be working today at least but it is quite hard. The trip over was quite tough but that was our own fault as we made a massive mistake.

We set up nice and calmly at 4.30pm and then very quickly got stuck in traffic. Finally out of that and less than a mile from the German border DG says do we have our passports. Turns out we did not. We usually keep all the travel stuff together so it is easy to grab but that box has been split up and the passports were on a pin board in the office which we did not remember when we left.

We had to drive back and add 3 extra hours to an already 8 hour journey. Not funny at all but we got to the hotel at 4am and got to sleep until noon check out so it wasnt actually too bad. So annoying but could also have been a lot worse like if we had got all the way to the tunnel as that is the first place they ask for passports.

Second day was fine we did get a bit stuck in traffic and then the tunnel had technical issues so we had to wait a bit but was back in the friends flat at 11pm.

Yesterday we just chilled and met a friend who lives really close to here which was nice. We got some English food in and cooked dinner then TV and bed. Today I am working and DG has a long list of shopping to get plus pick up her Amaz@n parcels that ended up at our old house. She is also posting the cool box back which does not work in the car and we will get a smaller Danish one as that has the right plug on it however it was handy to have it on the journey for cold drinks.

Tomorrow I have the afternoon off for a haircut and having lunch with friends. We are also having dinner with another friend but other than that time to chill and work. DG is going to her part time job so I will be here in the flat Weds and Thurs before we both leave Friday. I do need to sell the car that Motorway company has emailed saying I can phone them. Sadly I left the spare set of keys behind which was really stupid. Really needs sorting but I am sure it can be.

Time flies can’t believe how quick this has gone. Tuesday was great lovely to see friends again. We will stay with one of them when we come back and go to the golf club Xmas party. Will be good fun. Also hot haircuts and booked colour for when we come back in Dec.

Dg was off to her pt job early this morning. I’ve heard back from the car they are collecting it tomorrow. I’ve not confessed to not having the spare key but will tomorrow. Will be good to get it sold.

Spoke to manager today cat is out of the bag the notice on Monday makes it obvious who has taken VR I had not realised. Manager is also going 2/12 so I’m aiming for same date. Will take Fridays off to work on DGs and mine new business website I’ve been offered a last work trip away but it day before we get back so I’ll probably decline.

Did get to the shops tonight as friend was ill so cancelled our dinner tonight. I got to spend all my M&S vouchers got £34 off so not bad. Two tops and underwear which was much needed.

A bit of telly then bad with the lovely old feline we’re looking after.

Currently waiting for the car people to collect the car and me having to own up to not having the second key. I will post it but they might still insist on a reduction in the price.I do hate doing this type of thing. It will be sad to see it go I bought it just as I bought my previous house which we thought would be the forever home.

DG did say just now she just wants to go home so I said where is home and she said Denmark which it really does feel like home now. I need to pack my suitcase today it is going to be really heavy as there is so much stuff to take back.

    Right best do some work.

The passport thing is always a concern - I triple check where mine is at as I leave my home, then in the uber en route to airport - great DG caught it

I look forward to your mse savings in denmark :)
I was at the airport and remembered with my home insurance (meerkat) there is 25% off a coffee place so used that - I always need a large soya latte at every airport to celebrate being there in plenty of time - it’s better when I have saved over £1.5 on it

Always a bit sad to say goodbye to a loved car ! The move sounded like it was fairly stress free and the VR is fantastic!
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Car is gone and I have the full amount they were happy for me to post the keys to them so that is a relief. I have aleady cancelled the insurance did not get any refund as there was 1 1/2 months left on the policy.

I have also paid off my M&S credit card as the interest free period ends in October. I took that out to pay for golf membership fees for DG and I (she did pay me back) so that is good to have that one as it was for last years fees but handy to have had the credit and earnt interest on money since then.

Long days travel today my second train got cancelled so had to change twice and 30 min late for meeting with friend.

Trip to Gatwick was ok at least. My luggage is just so heavy and awkward I’m not travelling with so much luggage next time.

On the final train now been on four trains and a metro today. My mum is picking me up then we have 1 1/2 to my house. Yes Daisy_1571 it is lovely we both think of it as home. Dg really wanted to come back with me but she’ll enjoy seeing her friends.

She’s got to come back in early Nov for a court case super pain but doable with just two nights stay. I’m not coming on that trip I’ve had enough of travelling.

Will be nice to spend some time with my mum at the house. She’s never stayed with me so will be special just need to do some shopping as have nothing in but that can be done tomorrow.

Wow that weekend just flew past it was so quick. Mum picked me up but I had another long walk to the car as the station carpark was under renovation. We got here about 1am and then stayed up talking until 3am. It was lovely with some prosecco. Saturday mum was not very well with her back still so I got to local shops and did a big haul of stuff we really needed incl get two bags of grass to the dump and pick up some free compost. My dads car is not as big as mine was so not as easy to get stuff in.

I bought canes to support the raspberries as they had not been trimmed (they are autumn ones) and also some self climbing Hydrangeas that was flopping over crushing something I think might be a mimoses not entirely sure. I also got a lot of the smaller plants repotted and moves some of the bulbs out of the pot that was my sisters. Sadly I broke the pot when I dropped it on the raised bed.

I got some bulbs and pansies planted in some pots so it is starting to look really nice even if the patio so needs doing. The quote I got from the local guy turns out to be really good and it is tax deductible so it makes sense to get it done when I am properly registered here.

I also got 2 grates for the door steps to stop grass and debris coming in plus some other bits and pieces. I also got a holder for my phone so we can use it for gps in car but it was useless even though I got two different ones I just do not think they work in my dads car. Wish I had brought the one from the Fiat over but I didn't.

Mum and I chilled on the Saturday I got my curry out of the freezer and added the spices I had bought in Sainsbo's World Food isle and it was lovely. Sunday mum was still not great so she went home and I picked up the printer we had ordered which was a total pain but I got there. I also got to pick up DG who had been up since 4am so was not happy. She paid £32 to get a cab to Stanstead (her friend cannot drive at nighttime but its only 10min away.) She also paid £52 for 5 kilos excess luggage. I am glad I was is EasyJet which allows 23 kilo Ryan is only 20 which is why she got so badly stung. I think taking the car once a year might be well worth it and easier than lugging cases around I was so fed up Friday.

Got our electricity bill and they have reduced it slightly so using it at the cheapest time is paying off. My BIL sent me a link to sign up to the one he uses which is a bit like the MSE energy saving club I think where they buy in Bulk so get cheaper rates. It is quite funny it is always really cheap electricity here after it has been windy because so much of the power is generated by wind turbines which they produce here and I very proud off. I also get a tax relief for having the heat pumps. It is the tax deduction for having the patio done that confused me the most but it is a way for the government to curb cash in hand jobs. I cost me £35 to have the lawn done well worth it.

Also saw my sister and family Sunday to say thanks to my niece for catting and pay her. It was so nice just being able to pop in and see them and spend an hour or so with them. (DG was shattered).

Today is work but only 4 day week as I now have all Fridays off until this job ends 2/12. We will spend Fridays working on the DGs business and get the website up and running and start doing marketing so we can get our own leads instead of "buying" them from our consultancy firms. I am hoping DG will set up the printer she is not working today.

Tomorrow my mum is coming back over as my sister dog is being put down. She is really old and it is the best thing but still really hard. My sister wants everyone there for support.

Forgot to say I have signed up for MoneyBoxes move your interest from you Cash ISA to your S&S ISA. I have used my whole allowance and a lot of my money is now in Cash until I officially move here so thought it best. I know it is not low cost particularly but it is a small amount as I had to cash in all the other to buy the house.

I have also sorted out for the car keys to be picked up here Weds and then sent. Hopefully done the customs papers right just waiting for the printer to be set up so it can be printed out and collected. Then that is out of the way.
