Thank you stoplurking I still cannot quite believe it. I still do not know who else have opted for VR I am pretty certain my manager has but she has not told me as I have not spoken to her.

Played golf last night just none holes and finally got to play the back nine which are even hillier than the front. It was nice and DG and I played in the same group and she played fine so that was a relief. She is getting really upset that her pool bar is not coming along further and I am trying to say we do have a house without curtains and a garden that needs all the cut grass to be removed. She is just itching to get the projector up and get a sofa which I do understand.

I made curry yesterday in the slow cooker from the bulk order. I also need to portion up the mince beef it is so stupidly expensive over her due to tariffs which is mad as they produce it themselves but it is environmental tariffs. It has sadly meant we do need another freezer for the pool bar as the chest one we have given to my sister as it is really not suitable for us. It is certainly not MSE to go out and by two new freezers when you have one already but we just could not face having to go outside for anything frozen. Found a really nice on that is £450 but it is slightly too tall for what we need but could be a good option still and a good price.

My car is now for sale on the portal I went with lets see if we get a sale by the end of the day. That would be one thing out of the way at least.

Anyway got lots of work today so best get on with it.

2 freezers to help you buy in bulk and store food is very mse.  Its not the initial cost that decides whether a decision is mse its what you are going to use it for 😀

Thanks Daisy we are going to try and see how we get on before rushing into anything. We do have a huge spare fridge in the pool bar if that was to die it could be an option to get a fridge freezer instead. Problem was also that DG bought 6 bags of ice which was really over the top and takes up a lot of room.

Today after my last meeting we have to get into the big town to take a load of stuff back to Ikea and buy some frames for my sister. We also need to swap some catfood that was wrong in the click and collect order. We might pop in and see if the green lamp is still on offer I doubt it is but worth a look.

We then need to get organised for the drive back on Friday trying not to take too much stuff which is hard but it cannot really come back so thinking of taking stuff I can just chuck over there like my really old clothes and toiletries etc.

I got my 25% out of my pension yesterday so I really do need to do move stuff into savings accounts as it is a bit silly if it just sits there earning no interest.

I will need to move it to Denmark at some point to pay my mum back but the £ is still not good. I have moved the max into Santa and also added a few 100 to some investment accounts I have just for a bit of fun. I have also opened a HSBC savings account to stuff some money in. I cannot really start investing until I am permanently here it would be a bit of a mess I think. It is kind of fun shuffling money around just hope I can keep track of it all. At least I can stash £85K in each and I do have a lot of accounts luckily.

Anyway best get on with some work.

Quick check in to say that I logged into my MoneyCorp account that i used to transfer the large amount for my house sale and guess what I did get cash back a whole £575 now that was nice to fine it in there but not so good to see the rate is only £8.38 which is just really low. I did check Monzo and actually even with their higher fees because they give such good rates I would get an extra £775 if I use them instead of MoneyCorp so you know what I might just to that instead. I think that makes far more sense. Ups I am late for a call

More money going out. We are not going for a freezer right now we think we can manage but yesterday the printer died. Of course the warranty ran out in July and it is the cartridges that are jammed. I just cannot be doing with the hassle of appealing to them re warranty and fit for purpose as it is obviously no longer in the UK. So I ordered a new one using my cashback from the shop £35 and there is also £60 cashback if you register the printer within 30 days so that makes sense. We can then also set up an HP ink subscription from here instead of the UK.

Money shuffles continues Santa is now full and I have opened a 4.1% instant savings account from Tesco Bank. Only able to put £10K in a day but that will be next target then I think that will cover things might even be more than enough as I do still need to pay mum back. Then when I properly register here I can get the rest invested properly but for now it is earning between 3% and 4.2% so that is ok.

We did get the things returned to IKEA and also swapped the cat food for the right ones all very easy. We also picked up a green light we had bought on sale for £12 but wanted a second one. The one we got yesterday was actually £24 but combined still less than full price of £44 and they are changing the colour so last chance really. Having looked at the colour of the lights we decided the curtains does not go in the spare room so they will now go in our bedroom and we will go pale pink for a panelled wall behind our bed. I think it is going to look really nice with some colour plus the curtains will soften the room up. They were expensive curtains and I am so glad I brought them. That does mean we need curtains for the spare room but that can wait. We also need bedside tables but again that can wait.

I am hoping we can leave by 4pm still need to pack and ideally I need to pick up some more grass in the garden. We have a wash on as it is cheap electric but will use the tumble dryer to get it dry until we get an airer for the heated shed. I think it is going to rain here.

As for the car I did not accept their offer but put it on facebook asking if any of my friends were interested. If not I will try We@@anycar. We have the silver candlestick in the next auction 18/9 so that will be nice. I also got a letter confirming my redundancy and to my surprised they have calculated I have 6 years rather than 5 so a very happy TG who got an extra £4K. I will be working until mid December but with the 90 day rule and the 180 days I am more than fine until March so can register from Jan which is when the tax year starts over here.

Finally just got a free Greggs coffee from Confused even though I have no insurances to renew with them now. I do still need to find out what happened to our cheque from Virgin why have they not sent it yet it is almost a month now.

Looking good.  Wishing you both much happiness there
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
