Happy birthdayMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1 -
Thank you QueenJess, EarthGirl and Watty I did have a really nice evening (daytime was just work). We took the train a couple of stations along from us and went to a lovely pub on a marina. We sat outside and had a delicious meal and some lovely wine. We did not actually need two bottle of wine should have stopped at one but we all know DG so we took 1/2 a bottle home with us instead. Very MSE. On the way to the train we encounter a panicked dog so quickly got on local FB page and then turned out there was two of them that had got out. Someone got the one we saw very quickly and the other one was caught a few miles away. He had run along the motorway so he was quite lucky.
I then had to get up early to play golf and DG had her hair and colour. She forgot to take the cat food to the charity so still has that to do. Saturday I did not do a lot when I got back I was pretty tired but I did find out I have £60 credit at the club I can get something for that or I we can have a meal. It is all my winnings which is quite nice.
Sunday I got some gardening done. Arranged for friend to come and take my plants that are in pots but I still need to get them all out of the pots which is very hard work. Started taking my potting bench apart it is aluminium but my god it was tough. Almost there just a few bits to do. We also got everything down from the loft and DG sold another item on Ebay plus accepted and offer on another that was quite an expensive one. I withdrew £140 from Vinted so that was nice. I still have a bit to do with the pots but apart from that and go through the food right at the end we are actually getting there.
We would like to do a quick trip to Ikea to get two pillows but not sure if we will actually have to time to do this. Obviously got to work too lol.
Need to look into taking the 25% pension lump sum I just feel so uneducated about doing it but needs must so pull up big girl pants.
Today we were planning on doing lots of washing but it is raining so not ideal. I do have a few meetings but not too bad actually. DG is on Slimfast duty but is busy so I am guessing I will be making it as I am starving.
Got myself two free Greggs coffees this morning and I have my 2 free birthday cakes to get from the well known coffee shops so I think a trip into town will be needed at some point I can also take the charity stuff up there. Cannot let a couple of freebies go to waste.
Right back to work.

Plan to move to Denmark for FIRE by Autumn 2025 “May your decisions reflect your hopes not your fears”

So it is a Happy TG that woke up to an email from Virgin and they just want proof of our new address and then they will waive the fees I am so so happy that is a lot of money saved just for one email. It does pay to complain sometimes!
In other news I have been given a new project at work but with another person so that is quite good even if a bit awkward if I have to leave suddenly.
We looked into the VPN a bit more yesterday and unfortunately I would have to install it on my work laptop which I know they will not allow. I might even struggle to log into my email etc unless we can get it installed on the rooter so that option might not be a good idea. I might have to resort to the option of saying I am stuck in Denmark and will they let me work from there or take unpaid leave. T least that way I am not breaking any rules. Fingers crossed things move forward for a bit more clarity this week.
Still no further with insurance issue although internet issue is now sorted. We also ordered a fountain for the cats as we are a bit sick of them only drinking out of the running tap. They are not scared of it but not seen them use it. Fingers crossed it works as it has a usb to plug so we can change it to Danish when we get there. Real win that is.
Also DG asked on our local facebook group is anyone can fix record players. This guy offered so we went last night and it is not working. She is really pleased and all we had to give him was £10 in £2 picture coins but he was happy. She is going to make a little retro area with her favorite records. The player is not really good enough to play on as the speaker is quite tinny but it will still look good.
I have been told my plants are dispatched 13/8 so they might just get here 15/8 well I really hope so at least I do not have to panic about repotting them before we set off.
I think that is all the excitement for today tonight we are going to the gym it will realistically be our last one before we move so time to say goodbye to that fab part of our lives.
I think that is all the excitement for now, money is still really really tight until we get the house money but I have enough to pay the removal on the credit card so unless there are any other big expenses we should be good. I cannot wait to do the money shuffle once I have my cash and pay off the CC and fill up on Premium Bonds of course I did not win this month as I did not have much in there.
We also got the valuation for the Silver Candle stick they recon £200 to £300 at auction and fees between £40 to £50 so not sure if I should just list on Ebay.

So the day started really well with the Virgin win but since then it has gone a bit downhill.
Got my 2 freebie cakes, one was not very nice and the other one she misheard what I wanted so got one I do not like. Oh well they were free.
Got my Octo freebie Greggs coffee but to my horror realised I had let two freebie lapse on that app a coffee and a sweet treat ran out yesterday and the day before. Not good.
Could not exchange my £5 coins in the bank says you can send them back to Royal Mint but cannot find anything about that. I am going to have them at face value on Ebay they might shift then. So annoying as it is £35 in total.
In the second annoying thing today I got an email saying I had not done the identity form correctly which was right so that will need to be redone. I do now know of a local solicitor who does this for a donation to charity so I will get onto her I think rather than try and call them. Annoyingly I need a new photo and I cannot remember what I did with the last lot. I am sure I got 4 no idea where they are so might need new photos as well. Why could I not have done it properly first time it was just 2 ticks I needed and a signature very stupid of me to just send it off. I shall have a think if I start again or can just add the information to the form they have sent me.

I agree with earthgirl, you have so much on your mind at the moment it is no wonder some things slip through the cracks.2

Thanks EarthGirl and badmemory I have read the letter again and it sounds like I can just tick the boxes and sign the copy they have sent back rather than start again but will re read it again.
Sold my £5 coins for £30 so they can go off today already packed up. It was my exMIL who bought them for exDH so nice they are now gone and can be used for something else rather than take up space.
I do feel like we are moving forward on things. Decided not to go for any more insurance just go with what they offered us as part of the package. I am going to pay the Danish insurance from my Danish account rather than involve my mum in it. My dad has "given" us some money so that can be used towards this. Must do that today so I can get it sent off to the lawyers as the seller pays 1/2 of it. This is another bit of useless insurance but you have to take it out in Denmark but it hardly covers anything.
We could not get the potting bench completely taken apart sadly so will have to see if they will take it as it is. So annoying as a couple of more screws and it would have been so much better for transporting. I did get a few more pots done so I now only have 6 to do so that is getting there too. It is hard to rip your garden apart but I have spent years getting those pots and I do love them so do not want to just leave them behind all of them.
Finally go an answer from the Danish tax people they want a copy of the signed papers for the house which I can send them. I really hope I do not have to pay tax straight away over there.
Asked the plant company if they will arrive in time and they do not know. I am tempted to cancel some of the order and just keep the essential bit so if they do not arrive I wont feel like I have lost a lot. It is sad if they do not arrive I must say.
I have also move slightly forward with the redundancy side of things but got quite a bit of work plus got a new project starting soon. Time really is racing ahead but now its only 1 1/2 weeks until we leave.
Pay Danish insurance asap
