are you getting your ikea stuff delivered here then transporting to Denmark?  If so is that cheaper than buying once you are there?

aha, I see :)  I wondered if things were dearer in dk so it made sense buying and transporting.   I've only just discovered they deliver.   That never used to be a thing with them.  I suppose they've had to adapt to compete.   I could either get it to house for a fee or free to a mr t car park (if there's one within 30 miles of your house you get this option) or of course pick it up from store free.   As the thing im getting is long and wide (but not deep) and it should fit in the car, I went for fee to house just in case we were stuck in car park with a thing an inch too big to get in car

You are quite right they never did deliver and I think that is why they charge. We are having some big items delivered so it makes sense and we can build it all while waiting for the furniture which is really good.

It does feel like money is just flying out of my account at the moment and as I do not have a card on my Danish account yet I cannot pay for things with that. Thank goodness Monzo does not charge to pay abroad or it would be expensive. I will get a lot of cash when the house completes so some really money shuffling will then take place. The pound v kroner exchange rate is really pants right now so need to try and avoid moving money over.

They used to have vehicles available for (very short term) hire for when something was too big for your car.

I do remember that I think you can rent a trailer now. My BIL in Denmark has one of those anyway which is dead handy he used to work for a company that made them.

So I now know a little bit more about the process for this restructure and it feels like it has just been delayed by 3 weeks due to our managers leave. That means I will still know on Monday what the new roles will look like and on Tuesday I will find out more plus the voluntary redundancy. Then we have to wait 3 weeks to have our individual meetings which is literally the dates we are packing up and the following Monday. By taking off the Monday I can at least avoid that one. They did say the roles are not finalised until the end of the process which is end of Aug so I can see myself still working then and possibly all of September so I think it is safer just to keep stum about moving abroad. Feels like its taken forever to get to this point and now it feels so far away. I am hoping though perhaps I could say to my senior I want Vol Redundancy when I meet her which I could not have done had they kept the original timescale. Obviously there will be a deadline for applying which must be after the new meeting dates.

Got Sewerage cancelled, cant do water until 2 weeks before. Also sorted the mail redirection. Sorted some more clothes out and a huge bag is now going to charity. Also dyed some trousers I thought would have to be chucked but now they all 3 look lovely and I had to dye anyway so free to do. Very pleased with the result and saves money too. We also worked on the list for the removal company so that can go today.

I have just about got enough money to pay my credit card this month but then I will have the money from the sale of the house. I did not really want to eat too much into that but needs must as moving cost etc has to be paid etc. I put as much as I can on the credit card for protection but also to earn points I have a Tesco card. I could have got a new card and earned some points but I feel I have a lot of credit already on interest free.

Once I get the sale money I will stick 2 x £50k in our Premium Bonds. I will then pay off the credit cards. I do need to invest the money again as I cashed in my S&S ISA to buy the house. I think I am going to invest via my bank in Denmark problem is the £ vs Kroner is not good right now however out of the market is not good. I will also top up my cash ISA.

Danish estate agent has just been in touch and asked when I can collect the keys so it is starting to feel real. Lots of work to do today so best crack on with it.

Thanks Earthgirl I spoke to my manager yesterday she was fishing for what I would like to do. I did not say but asked about the Vol redundancy and the new consultancy roles. She does not think the new roles will be here anytime soon. We were also told yesterday that our individual conversations have been delayed by 3 weeks which is annoying but at least they will now be done by a person we actually know. I am so so glad I am able to make this move and not really care about if I have a job or not. It must be so stressful for everyone else who really needs a job and people who really want to stay but work with the people they know not all the ones that a not so good who will no doubt get to stay.

We did declutter the pool bar last night and a whole bag went in the bin. There is still so much alcohol left we will just have to take it in the car so much money wasted if we do not and we will have a bar on the other side so why now. The plan is to use the shed to have all the stuff we are taking in the car and the stuff we are leaving for the buyers that way we do not have to put stuff in the loft only to take it back down which is hard work and anoying. We do want things to be as clear as possible with what we are taking and what we are not for the packers.

So left to declutter is the following which is a lot less but still quite a bit.
The office (DGs desk and paperwork)
    Golf cupboard
    2nd bed room
3rd bedroom (my sewing stuff mainly)
    Kitchen
    Dinning room unit
    TV unit (almost done)

I think that is it the big job was the loft so glad that is done.

Also booked by flights for DK return in September my mum will pick me up and come back to ours for a weekend just the two of us that should be really nice. Went with EasyJet as the Norwegian flights were really late it was cheap at £43 as I am only flying with hand luggage DG is talking about taking a caseback but it doubles the cost which is quite silly I think. Anyway up to her really.

Finally today I have my coil taken out not had that done before so not really looking forward to it. I do need some Slimfast first so best go and do that. The diet went right off last night no gym and Chinese takeaway which was not even very nice but DG paid.

so difficult with volunteering for redundancy.   I remember years ago when they were looking to get rid of people from a department I was in and a wifey got turned down when she was hoping to get it so she could help her daughter and look after her grandchild.   She was really disappointed but what made it worse was sitting opposite a bloke who got it but was your typical do as little as possible unhelpful type who was leaving anyway as he had a job lined up as a local councillor and he used to tell us how much he got away with as expenses.  Never understood that decision at all.  Send him off with even more money and reward your good worker with having to stay.

Bosses!  Glad I'm out of all that  :)

Great idea splitting tge hut.  No point keeping putting things in and out the attic endlessly.   Did you ever get your business space sorted out with old bil?
