Things are moving at pace it feels and I have still not tackled the work frog but I have all day. We spoke to a second solicitor about the house buying in Denmark and he cannot offer us the financial part and he also charges by the hour. He said go and speak to a Danish bank, well I bet that is as easy as here. I did look into bridging loans here and to set up on and use it for 1 month would coast £10.5K and then its £3K per month compound interest so not interested in that. I did not like him as much as the first one and actually the prices were only about £1500 different and the other one is as many houses as you want. So we are going with the first one and will let them know later today I think it is a good fit and £3600 well spent as it will introduce us to Danish banking and budgeting so not a bad thing. I have also asked my crappy IFA's to move my S&S into a lower risk in case I have to cash it in. it would give me £200K towards the house so would only need to borrow £90K or so but then DG might have some of that but lets see what the options are and then decide if it is worth cashing it in.
I am not going to be totally gutted if we do not get that particular property but I think we have realised we do not want to sell and buy right at the same time it is just not possible. Lets see what Sunday brings the buyers will have had a week on the market hopefully lots of positive news I hope.
Right back to the work frog then later play with my new £120 sheets which better be good. Also sore from gym last night so no gym tonight.
Just edited to say we won £12 in the post code lottery better than nothing.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Plan to move to Denmark for FIRE by Autumn 2025 “May your decisions reflect your hopes not your fears”

Late check in as I actually had a local in person meeting. It went really well they are such lovely people and i got some good information for the frog work which I have almost completed.
I did get a coffee on expenses (not a Costa sadly) and mileage today still need to claim it but do not have time right now. Off tomorrow at 7am on the train so early start. Did not sleep well so that did not help either.
We have done all the bits they asked for by the buyers advice company and I have asked them how to respond to the Danish estate agent. He may (unlikely) have a buyer lined up but we cannot move forward until we have done the financial part. Will be good if they can price up our options which I think will look like this:
a. wait until our house sell and then buy
b. get a bridging loan here or in DK (expensive)
c. cash in S&S ISA and borrow the rest in DK or UK
d. us cash I have now less than £50K and get a Danish mortgage for the rest.
Well lets' see what the costs are for each.
Tomorrow is sewing festival and then golf Sunday plus buyers popping over. Their house is according to rightmove not sold yet but will be good to hear from interest they have had. It is actually really nice with a conservatory and large garden for that size house. I really do hope someone wants to buy it would be so neat.

Afternoon been a really nice weekend, loved the sewing festival which was a bit spendy but now I have stuff to make at the sewing group and I have made a new friend which is nice. We will be working on this project together so that is really nice. I cost £30 plus I bought a pattern as well which I will make in cheap fabric before I try it in expensive fabric cost £15. There was coffees (no Costa Stamps sadly or Greggs).
Had the buyers visit they have had 1 viewing of interested people and their estate agents are optimistic well they always are. We now have their solicitor details which I have passed over and hopefully they will do the same. They asked about stuff we would include so we said we need to think about it but it did not sound like they wanted to pay for it which is fine but that does not incl. the hot tub as the woman I met yesterday is keen to buy it so we shall see.
They said about them moving ahead before our ultimate starting point of 1st Aug and we said we can live with friends for a bit or actually move unofficially.
We spent a couple of hours working on our website and it is coming along but still do much to do. We have all of Friday to work on it so that is quite good. Definitely need it. Also need to start decluttering and putting more on Vinted.
Golf in a minute then SPA and swim still a bit shattered from yesterday but all ready for sewingclub with my new project.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Golf did not happen DG has no energy and I did not mind as I got loads done and so pleased 1 box has left the loft however I do need to list some stuff on Ebay I actually have a full set of Danish mugs (one for each month) which I will never use again but they are worth something. I also put some glasses and a decanter set on Vinted it is Christmas Themed so might not sell but I don't really want them. If they do not move I will also put them on Ebay.
I did throw some stuff out but it at least showed me that there are 1/2 empty boxes up there. I also made some roast veg and chicken for dinner and there is another portion for later in the week. With the rest of the chicken I made some curry in the slow cooker as we had run out of frozen portions and really like it. Also decluttered a jar of sauce from the cupboard.
I did sew some seeds in a propagator I put on the window sill. DG commented she can't wait until I get a greenhouse (I will if we get the house we are so keen on currently). My MSE bargain plants and bulbs are out for delivery but I have soil etc to plant them up and they can go in the cold frame. As we are moving I am not getting loads and hopefully the bulbs can move with us if we are to get a house sooner rather than later. If not they can go in pots.
I did spend £30 on stuff for sewing and a storage box for xmas decs as that is the next area I am going to tackle next.
We also have our financial meeting with the Danish company on Friday where i have the day off to also work on the website. Cat food also ordered on repeat so that is coming. We are monitoring how much our ginger fat boy is eating but it is hard as the other one does eat dry food too. We need him to be a bit more active that would help.
Gym tonight new class then straight to sewing club. Work is better this week as the frog is out of the way now I just need to catch up there are a lot of meetings. Feeling positive though feels like move to Denmark is well on track and so far the right decisions have been made.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Cancelled gym just does not have the headspace and I can get to sewing club on time. Danish estate agent was chasing us so I had to reply saying when our next meeting is and he replied back saying that was ok. Sounds like they have not got another buyer so still interested in us. All sounds like forward progressDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks LWAP it does strangely even though I managed to miss a work meeting I think speaking to someone who is very senior and really annoying made me have to go and lie down literally. Sounds like I didn't miss much.
Managed to list 4 things on Ebay well they are more than 4 as they are sets so if they sell that would be amazing and clear our my spare room. Also chucked some old make up and bags plus found something for the charity shop to donate. I have to try and do a bit every day as it feels so good to see the space it creates and very MSE as I will not need to pay as much to move and need storage at the new house.
The Danish buyers advisers did not respond to me so in the end I did reply to the Danish estate agent and he was fine happy to wait until after Friday. The big house we are interested in is not on the open market as such just being sent to interested from the estate agents books so shows to me that they have not got anyone else in a position to proceed.
I also went to sewing club I worked really well with the other lady and managed to cut it all out (well mostly) and the lady gave me a cutter and lent me her cutting mat so I can carry on at home. I do not want to get too far ahead of the other lady but I am also keen to move it forward and use my new cutting skills.
Lots of meetings today the joys.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Morning gym last night was so hard and we are going tonight no excuses I need to shift this flab before our holiday in May. I am following the news and it is looking a bit concerning as we are going to Turkey but lets hope they peacefully sort it out. We can always switch locations if the worse comes to the worse. It is depressing to watch the news obviously I am still following what is going on in Greenland and yes I know we should not discuss politics on here but it does affect the money markets and I could do with out too much turmoil right now.
I have done the forms for the interview with the IFA next week and we are all set for Friday's meeting too. I think I emailed the wrong person about how to deal with the Danish estate agent but at least I have bought some time now.
Another house was listed today right size amazing views same owners since built in 1973 but lots of work to do. Also two storey set into a hill side so not sure how much you would actually use the garden. It did have a cool roof terrace. Actually this is the link if you want to take a look.
My blubs and plants arrived yesterday I do need to pot them up but I have no soil. Need to get some anyway meeting in a minute so best get on with it.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Got the dahlia bulbs potted up last night but I need some more soil. I will put the alliums in my raised bed then I can always dig them out when we move it would be nice to take them with me. Still a load more I need to look at what is and get potted up.
DG got her pension statement for her DB pension she gets £190 per month pre tax which is not bad really for something she did for 5 years at a low wage. She might as well take it now as she will not get any more if she waits any longer. She is not going to take any lump sum does not need it really.
Been to the dentist and hygienist all good. I need to post the Ebay package it got £8 for it but they should be paying the postage so lets hope that is added when I print the label. I still need to pack it up but at least it is out of the way.
I got the Temu xmas ornament box yesterday it is really study and loads 120 but you can make so bigger things can fit in there. I think that will be really useful but we will need more for DGs stuff.
No more house news but work is busy and I have tomorrow off for that financial meeting so lets hope things progresses then. Fingers crossed for lots of viewings for our buyers.Save £12k in 25 No 49
