The disadvantage of MR LH not shopping is ehat he has no idea idea of the cost of things. He was recently shocked at the price I paid for a printer cartridge. Food prices mean absolutely nothing to him despite me telling him what we spend.

I took Dh to biiig supermarket a few miles away today. He talked me into buying a dress and cardigan (honestinjuns he did) I’d planned on spending about a tenner - I ended up spending MUCH more. It’ll all be used though and would have been spent next time I was out…..well everything except the clothes would have been on our next shop.January spends - £587.584

Happy Friday 🥳
Have been in the office today. It was very quiet and I didn’t speak to anyone all day as there wasn’t anyone there I know 🙁 On the plus side I got quite a lot of work done I’d been putting off.Had a walk to the Mr S not too far from the office to look for possible joggers and sweatshirt for Mr SA but no joy. He’s a 3XL which narrows down the choice somewhat. Also tried MnS on the way home but nothing really. I’m hoping Mr T might have something when I go tomorrow but as our local one has a very limited stock I’m not holding my breath.I bought a few food bits from Mr S while I was in there. I noticed quite a few of their things are cheaper than Lid!
Walked to work and back plus to Mr S and back so have clocked up 24,000 steps today. I got caught in the rain on the way home and got soaked so jumped straight in the bath.
Tonight’s dinner was leftover butternut squash stew from last night.Looking forward to putting my feet up with a glass of red once I’ve cleared up. I’m shattered so no doubt I’ll be asleep after the first sip 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
Happy weekend SA - not long till hols how many more sleeps??
we changed our big shop to Mr A this week instead of going to Lid! - delivery only £1 so a no brainer really. Some good offers and I got a £3 voucher from doing the big Easter food shop last week.

Just read that there have been several reports of otters in the local area and sadly someone’s cat has been attacked by one and is very badly injured 😢 I thought they only frequented rivers but then we’ve had so much rain recently most of the roads around here are like rivers at the moment. We are approx 2.5-3 miles from the river.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

On the Lidl prices - they were cheaper for things I wanted the other day (coconut milk for instance). I did notice that their 'specials' are often much more expensive than the same item under a different label.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I'm with @RelievedSheff on this - I think mink are more likely attackers than otters, but both are in the mustelid family, so perhaps easy to misidentify if somebody only saw them from a distance. They often live alongside rivers & I understand they are present in our county. I live very near to the river, but have never seen one myself. When I was a child, I remember my Mum explaining how mink were escapees from fur farms & that they'd gobbled up all the water voles. She was sure that was the reason native water voles had declined along local waterways.
