Morning, happy rainy Easter Monday ☔️
So nice to not be traipsing out to work this morning. I’ve only got one more work Monday to do then none until 15 May 🥳
Despite the rain I need to go to Lid! or A!di today. Just for a couple of things that can’t wait until tomorrow’s Mr M shop. They are both a fair distance so it’ll get my steps in. Dog walking will be confined to the park across the road, although it’s her favourite place so she won’t mind.Yesterday was NSD 3. I didn’t buy anything from the garden centre and we didn’t stop off at the pub in the end.Today’s main task is to get out the suitcases, holiday clothes and toiletries. Also need to sort out what needs using up in the fridge - cauliflower for a start. Plus have a good clean up round the house ready for back to work tomorrow. I need to make a list so I don’t forget anything. Why is there always so much to do? How do some people manage to sit on the sofa all day watching box sets?I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Morning SA. Wet here as well. I agree about always stuff to do. People say to me that because I don't work I must have lots of free time. If that is the case, why do I akways have a " to do" list? Can't think of anything worse than watching day time TV, although I would like more time to do jigsaw puzzles.Making the debt go down and savings go up

I ended up going to A!di this morning as it was raining and it’s nearer. Managed to get back home before the heavens opened. When the rain stopped we took the dog on the park for a run.I’ve got the suitcases out and Mr SA’s clothes are more or less packed. I need to get my summer clothes down from the top shelves of the wardrobe although there are quite a few things in my suitcase from when we went to Greece. I’ve checked the toiletries and need to get a few things but not much. It shouldn’t be a stressful task but it is when Mr SA is sitting on the bed shouting out random items. I prefer to pack when he’s not there. I’ve still got this weekend to sort it out.I’ve used up the cauliflower, half has gone to make Spiced Cauliflower Soup for work lunches and the rest is going into tonight’s dinner - One Pan Cauliflower and Salmon with lentils, a new recipe I’m trying from the WW app.Duolingo has given me 3 days free Super Duolingo as I’ve hit a 950 day streak. I’m hoping I won’t lose my streak on holiday as I’d love to hit 1000 days.
The weather has been crazy today torrential rain, sun and wind. The garden has been battered.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
I made the effort and got all my summer clothes out. My heart sunk at the sight of some of the same old things being trawled out yet again that I won’t wear - time to get rid I think.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Well done on 950 Duolingo days! I hope you get to 1,000!
Re: clothes. I'm sure if your heart sinks at the sight of some of them, it's time to move them on and maybe treat yourself to something new.
Incidentally, I've just been watching an old programme called something like 'How to save a grand in 24 hours' (Channel 4) which I think you recommended on another thread. In one episode someone was spending £400 a month on clothes, and went through her entire wardrobe getting rid of the things she'd not worn recently. They then arranged things by type (all black dresses together, all jeans together etc.) so she could see clearly what she had and not buy duplicates. Perhaps holiday packing is working the same for you? I know when I got a couple of bags of summer clothes out of the loft recently, there were old favourites but also some I just knew I wouldn't wear again.
Hold me accountable for getting rid of some of mine!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Hello Sun_Addict,
Delurking to say hi, been following your diary for years. Totally with you about holiday clothes, I've spend last couple days packing as we fly out to Tenerife today with OH, DD and DSD. Youngest wants to take all her toys and oldest a fully equipped beauty !!!!!!. Worried we will be cutting it fine with the weight.
I too have realised that some summer holiday clothes just won't be worn or not flattering on me anymore so I will be having a cull once home.
Hope you have a wonderful holiday when you got and Mr SA doesn't pack too many random things when your back is turned.

Morning, happy Tuesday, a nice sunny one today.
Hello @Fizz2015, have a fabulous time in Tenerife 😎
@Cherryfudge I don't want to even think about how many pairs of jeans I've got in several different colours! That said I do tend to live in them even for work.
WFH today so easing me slowly back into the working week.
Mr M delivery all packed away by 7am. One sub - cherry tomatoes for plum tomatoes, happy with that. This week's offer was £2 off if you buy veg.
Finances have been checked and there was an overspend of £8 in the grocery budget but remembered I bought two joints of beef on Friday that are cut up and in the freezer so I'll let myself off 😆
£10.03 was added to the survey pot. I have £9.75 to cash out of PA with £2.25 pending approval so will cash that out at the end of the week.
Today's exercise plan is dog walking shortly, bums & tums class at lunchtime and resistance bands class tonight.
Need to use up broccoli so tonight's dinner will have to include it, got a few recipes to look at. I'm trying to run down fresh stocks now before we go away. There have been many years I've spent the day before we go away cooking and freezing a mountain of veg!

I’ve booked the August holiday. There were only 3 rooms left at the hotel and Jet2 had sent me a £60 off voucher plus another £40 off via their app. We’re going back to Zante, same hotel. I compared different dates and the end of August was the cheapest. Good flight times too. Then booked the special assistance via What’s App so they took the seat prices off the balance. We won’t be there for my birthday but a week later, I can live with that not to pay peak holiday prices. So that’s the holidays sorted for this year 🏖️I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8
