@Makingabobor2 - ants don't like anything powdered. Any spices that need to be recycled that you could sprinkle around the plants?
Slugs aren't supposed to like broken up egg shells around things. They are supposed to really like beer. The recommendation is to bury a bottle with a wide opening half filled with beer and trap them. Any one you know have chickens? You could also just trap the slugs and they can feed them to the chickens.1 -
The only thing with burying a bottle is the drowned small mammals, don't ask how I know
... I used to have a beer-baited slug trap though that somehow didn't seem to catch mice. I'd forgotten about it but slugs are such a bloomin' nuisance I need to find it again. They always seem to go for the thing you have highest hopes for.

I can’t believe the weekend is almost done and it’s back to work tomorrow 😭
In money news it’s been NSD 2 of July. Won £5 and a lucky dip on last nights lottery.Exercise has been dog walking on the park, 10 minutes abs challenge and a 15 minutes Get Fit With Rick Zumba session to get my steps over the 10k mark.Made a delicious chickpea salad for lunch with 3 portions left for work lunches. Tonight’s dinner was air fried salmon with steamed Cornish new potatoes and steamed kale, carrots and baby corn.DD was at work so managed to give the kitchen and bathroom a good clean. No snails in the courgettes tub so moving them looks like it’s worked.Had a good dollop of rain much needed for the garden so not complaining.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -

You've reminded me of Get Fit with Rick. Takes me back to lockdown but he always cheered me up and the views of Dubai were fab when we weren't allowed to travel further than the supermarket 😀2

Happy Monday.
Worked in the office until lunchtime, just got a few bits to finish at home.
I signed up to the newsletter on the Vegan Richa website, looking forward to receiving some nice recipes.
Stopped off at Lid! on the way home. Mr SA wanted me to pick up some compost so he came to meet me on his scooter.
Today's freebies were coffee courtesy of 0ct0pus for me and sweet bakery item from Lid! for Mr SA.
Tonight's dinner is pearl barley mushroom risotto with side salad. Had a portion of the chickpea salad for lunch and overnight oats with frozen summer fruits and 2 blueberries from the greenhouse for breakfast - didn't mix the oats and yoghurt very well so it was like sawdust at the bottom 😆
Did my usual Monday finances check. Could do with reining in the grocery spending for the next couple of weeks, spent a lot on stocking up in the first two weeks of the budget period.
Today's exercise has been walking to/from work, a short 5 minutes abs session later followed by a live strength training session tonight.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5
