Morning all, happy Friday.
Working in the office today, it's very quiet at the moment. Finishing at lunchtime for the weekend.
I kept waking up in the night unable to get comfortable because my pillow didn't feel right. Realised this morning Mr SA had swapped his pillow for mine 😐So I had the squashed to death (by him) uncomfortable pillow he'd been recently complaining about and he took my nice firm pillow. Of course he denied it! Quite annoyed about that! Ended up getting up at 4.30 before the alarm went off as I was wide awake.
Picked up the free Waitrose Weekend paper on my way to work, although it added another 20 minutes onto my walk. That will save me traipsing through the city centre at lunchtime when it's busy.
I need to stop off at Lid! on the way home so it won't be a NSD.
Today's exercise is walking to/from work and another day of the abs challenge.
Tonight's dinner is another old favourite recipe harissa prawn orzo.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
Mr SA is really pushing your buttons just lately, it seems like something new every day (and always either selfish, unthinking or rude to you even if it is down to brain damage).
How you cope, I do not know.
Wishing you a weekend with at least an hour or two of sunshine, books and/or gin for yourself xx2 -
Reading about MrSa's various antics is like reading about a badly behaved child. I remember watching the Child of our Time documentaries and they were exploring when children start to not tell the truth. They left a 3 year old in the kitchen with a chocolate cake and said not to eat it. 10 minutes later the cake was decimated and the child covered in chocolate. The child was adamant they hadn't eaten it and it was probably the dog!You are so patient!3

It certainly seems Mr SA is reverting to his naughty childhood at the moment 😞 He thinks the world revolves around him.I came home from work, dumped the shopping in the kitchen and sat in my hanging chair reading for a good hour. It was lovely. The neighbour is replacing the fence between us, it’s his fence so we don’t need to contribute, he just wanted to warn us it will be down for a short time because of the dog. Although the dog is long past exploring 😆 We’ve done quite well fence wise as one side belongs to him and the other side to the church. Thank goodness as the back garden is over 100 feet long 🙂I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Happy Saturday 🥂
Took the dog on the park early this morning before it got too hot.Came back home and had a coffee in my hanging chair where I was being watched by a squirrel who couldn’t take its eyes off the skinny oats bar I was eating. It was really close to me. I’ve had squirrels pinch biscuits from me before 😆
Reminds me about last night. I was enjoying a glass of rose in the garden when a tiny spider on a thread swung past me, landed on the rim of my glass and proceeded to make its way down the glass. Managed to stop it in its tracks before it met an alcohol fuelled end.
So I’ve got Mr SA pinching my gin and pillow, a squirrel after my oat bar and a spider after my rose. Is nothing sacred 😆
Gave the house a good clean after coffee time.
DS and the GKs came at lunchtime. DGD felt sick so was crying most of the time 😬 DGS was straight upstairs to DD and her gaming set up so didn’t see him until later. We were looking at the fish in the pond and I pulled a piece of blanket weed out. There were 8 newts tangled up in it so had to rescue them. DGS thought they were beautiful and wanted to stroke them. When they went home I went and sat in my hanging chair with my book when it started raining quite heavily so I had to quickly pack up and go indoors. Except Mr SA had locked me out - again 😞 Fortunately I had my phone with me so wasn’t out for long.Today has been a NSD which is unusual for a Saturday. We didn’t need anything so it was pointless going to the shops.Thankfully got 2 loads of washing dry before the rain came.Tonight’s dinner is veggie burger, wedges and salad. Prosecco is in the fridge for later.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
You are a woman in much (gin, oat bar, and rosè) demand!
Glad you got back in quickly 🙄
We had a very brief light shower of rain here, got my hopes up for a cooling downpour to break the close heat but it was over in a few minutes and the heatwave rushed back in. I don't think the rain even made it to the other side of the flat!4 -
Yes the rain didn’t last long here either and went back to hot and sunny again. I should’ve just stayed outside 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

I was doing the ironing earlier when I spotted the young cat running across the road 🫣 We live on a side road but it can get busy at times as people use it as a cut through to avoid a main road plus we have the park. DD went out and called her name and she ran back across the road 🫣 Not happy about this as we lost a cat several years ago who used to cross the road and got hit.DD wanted to keep her in after this but she ran out when I let the dog out. Thankfully at the moment she’s asleep under my sun bed.In other news about the young cat, DD had to get up in the early hours and rescue her from a fight with another cat 😞I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5
