Forgot to add - I had an email from 0ct0pus today saying they're putting up my monthly direct debit by £20. Really - I'm £425 in credit and this amount will build up over the summer months. I've sent them an email to ask why they think this is right when I'm so much in credit.
you can go online and just reduce it to whatever you like.  Hope they are not going to put ours up, as we are not that much in credit.
We are in debt to 0ct0pus the equivalent to about 80% of our monthly direct debit. On the app in the "manage Direct Debit" they suggest increasing our monthly payment by 56%, I'm ignoring it as I know our usage plummets in the summer. Our account had a greater negative balance at the same time last year. I do put a little bit aside in a savings account incase I need to pay a lump sum and or increase my monthly payment.

    Morning all, happy Tuesday.

WFH until 8.45 then I have a hairdressers appointment at 9. After that I will be making my way into the office for the rest of the day. Tonight I have the park volunteers group meeting which I would decline in normal circumstances but we are finalising plans for a summer event next month.

I could've sworn I'd booked a Mr M delivery for 6am this morning but turns out it's booked for tomorrow lunchtime. No idea what the reasoning behind this is unless I couldn't get an early slot but I must've thought it was a good idea at the time!

Mr SA is getting himself stressed as he's had a bowel cancer screening test come through the post and has managed to convince himself this is because the GP thinks he has bowel cancer. He phoned me 3 times at work yesterday worrying about it.

Today's exercise is walking to/from work, an abs session from the challenge and walking to/from the meeting tonight.

Tonight's dinner will have to be something quick so I might have the leftover portion of sweet potato and lime stew.

Spends should just be a drink in the pub where the meeting is tonight.

You have reminded me that I need to contact OFTM about our energy direct debit. I think it is set too high, we are already almost £300 in credit which is 3.5 months of payments for us so we could lower our monthly payment. Plus we are now on a cheaper tariff as well.

A job for today I think. Thanks for the reminder.

Oh poor Mr SA - not surprised allowing for his history that he is worried about it!

On the very rare occasion that Octopus try messing with my DD I just re-set it in the app. It's by far the easiest I've ever found dealing with such things with an energy supplier! I suspect I will opt to increase ours a little ahead of the winter, but right now we are using barely any gas, and electric is sitting around about the 13p/kWh average, so we should accrue a lump of credit over the next few months anyway. Of course chances are that electric price won't stay low for long with the current world events, but there you go!

Impressed that your lot remind you about putting bins out SA, although less impressed that having reminded you they then fail to do what they emailed about!

That smoked basa sounds nice - I've seen you mention that before. Is that from Lils or somewhere else?

You have to sign up for the reminders on their website and they email you the night before.

Yes the smoked basa is indeed from Lils in fact it's on the weekly offers starting tomorrow 4 pieces for £3.29, it's skinless and boneless too. I always pick up a couple of packs when it's on offer.
