Happy Christmas SA. Well mine didn’t start as I had hoped. My cooker broke this morning, thankfully I cooked the turkey last night, everything I cooked today in my ninja. The only other time a cooker has broken on me was Christmas Day 30 years ago. Think it maybe an expensive start to the new year.xx:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.003

Oh dear. I replaced my cooker this year. I rarely use it but thankfully it held out xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x2 -
Morning all, happy Boxing Day.It was a quiet day yesterday, took the dog out in the morning but didn’t go with Mr SA on the afternoon walk as I was enjoying catching up with TV viewing.I woke up this morning with a sore throat and a general feeling of not being 100% ☹️ Not surprising as I’ve been in a lot of very busy places over the past week.Providing I feel ok I want to do the Joe Wicks annual Boxing Day live workout at 9am. I’ve been looking forward to this so will be disappointed if I don’t feel up to it. Other exercise will be dog walking.I still have lots of TV to catch up on including Gavin & Stacey from last night as I kept nodding off and Mr SA kept switching over to Gogglebox so I gave up and went to bed.I need to have a good tidy and clean round today as there’s bits and bobs all over the place.A local boutique is doing a 20% off day today with free Prosecco but doubt I’ll go. I don’t really need anything and it’s one of those places where you feel obliged to buy something once you’re in. I bought a couple of lovely things from there when she did the same thing in the summer. There is an absolutely gorgeous dress in the window that looks like a skirt and jumper but attached. It’s lovely and sparkly but I can tell it would be far too long on me. Plus I don’t really go anywhere to wear something like that although I do need something special for DS’s wedding 🤔I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8

Mr SA has been complaining it’s cold in the living room for a while now. I thought it was because he just sits and watches TV but noticed this morning that the radiator isn’t on. Need to check the valves and bleed it before calling someone out to it. Good job it’s quite mild at the moment. There’s always something!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

If the dress suits you apart from length, and would work for the wedding, why not see if it can be altered? You'd already be paying less so that could go towards the cost of the alteration. Of course some styles shorten better than others so there's that.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Thankfully radiator problem easily solved. Someone had turned the thermostat down to 0. This will be Mr SA fiddling with it although he claims not to have touched it.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

@amber03 glad the broken oven wasn't disastrous, but as you say an expensive start to 2025, hopefully you can find a replacement in the sales 🤞
@Sun_Addict I hope you felt well enough for the live Joe Wicks Boxing day workout as I know it is something that you would enjoy. I think your body is telling you to have a relaxing few days to ward off the lurgy.
Glad you easily sorted the radiator problem, obviously Mr SA hadn't been fiddling 😉Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
