Thank you all for your lovely comments 🙂
Well that long bank holiday weekend has flown by! Can’t believe it’s back to work tomorrow. At least I’m WFH so not quite as bad. Plus on a proper countdown to holiday now, 3 weeks tomorrow 🥳
Went to Lid! this morning with Mr SA and the dog. Picked up some tofu with the 15% off coupon and some reduced by 30% sausages for Mr SA. The dog got a good walk out of it then Mr SA took her on the park this afternoon so she’s snoozing on the sofa now.It was raining very fine rain this morning but nice and sunny this afternoon.Got quite a few indoor jobs done but not everything on my list. Some can be carried forward to another day. At least I managed to give the floors a good steam scrub. Apart from the air fryers that steam scrub mop is the best gadget I ever bought.Did yet another freezer inventory and shuffle round. Also cleaned out the fridge.Booked my nails and eyebrows in for the Saturday before holiday.Tonight’s dinner is veggie sausage and roast root veg. Exercise has been walking to/from Lidl and general pottering, will finish up on 15,000 steps or so. No hooping class tonight as bank holiday.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
Sounds like a productive weekend, it had flown by for me as well. It seems I am away again at a similar time to you. Mine is 3 weeks on Saturday, can't wait after all this rain. Whilst watching Kate Garroway on catch up Dereks story my thoughts turned to you . You are another person working full time, running a house and caring for someone . Mr SA is a very lucky man indeed having you .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.3

I don't know how you find the time to fit in everything you do SA. You are a Saint and Mr SA is a very lucky man to have you by his side.
The next three weeks will fly by and your well earned holiday will be here before you know it 😀3 -
Morning all
Back to work today but WFH so doesn't seem quite so bad.
Mr M shop was delivered and all put away by 7am.
New 4 week budget period started yesterday and I'm pleased report £153.82 underspend for last month. I'm going to send £3.82 to the Christmas pot and the £150 will go into the holiday pot as it's fast approaching.
Savings wise £150 sent to YBS Christmas Saver, £200 to Nwide and £250 to Principality. Was pleased to see £92.71 interest added to the YBS Internet Saver which is the emergency fund. Added £7.82 to make it up to the next round £100 😆
Mortgage payment has gone out with another £100 overpayment.
Balances:
Mortgage: £6860.20
Savings:
First line defence emergency fund £200.00 (kept in current account)
Emergency fund £5100.00
Principality RS £1500.00
Nwide RS £1400.00
YBS Christmas Saver £600.00
Premium Bonds £700.00
Sinking funds £3779.90 (this fluctuates)
Today's exercise is taking the dog on the park later this morning, bums & tums at lunchtime and resistance bands tonight.
Tonight's dinner is tuna steak with rice and steamed veg. Going to make a batch of carrot, swede and lentil soup for work lunches.

Sinking funds in my opinion are crucial to keeping to a budget as you are planning for future expenditure you have committed to or know will be needed. We have fewer sinking funds than @Sun_Addict as things like annual house insurance/subscriptions etc go in our bills account. We just have personal spends in a separate current account for each of us, sinking funds for Christmas, Holidays, Cars and House so more general. Entertainment, fuel and groceries are monthly budgets so not sinking funds for us.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I’ve been very productive tonight holiday wise and have checked in online, booked meals on the plane for the return journey as we don’t land until 7.30 pm and I don’t want to be cooking when we get back home, booked a mobility scooter for Mr SA and booked the airport lounge. Just need to book the taxis and order currency nearer the time.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7
