Happy New Year everyone! It's been a bit of a roller-coaster here. DD has been ill and -mercifully- an MRI scan has ruled out a mass on her brain which one junior doc mentioned as a possibility, her ears/balance are still under investigation. She has an appointment in a week or so with a consultant to talk through the diagnosis. She has decided to restart Year 2 of uni in September 24 and we are in the thick of sorting that out. She has said that she doesn't want to drop out, transfer elsewhere or do a different course (acting degree) but does want to move year as it has been a toxic experience with people in her current year and has numerous friends in the year below. I'm so relieved about her diagnosis so far but am anxious about what comes next. She has accommodation set up for the next academic year. Her happiness and health come first and we've had a couple of conversations already about this being an opportunity for a structured reset, not a dropping out and retreating to teenage behaviour. I think it's going to take time for me to process and there will be times of anxiety along the way. Thanks to everyone reading love Humdinger xx3

I don’t mind in the slightest @Humdinger1 what a worrying time you’re going through. Sending lots of positive vibes your way and I hope the medics can get to the bottom of your DD’s issue soon. I also hope the university problems are resolved 🤞I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Happy Saturday 🥂
Did a ClubFit class this morning then went to the big (ish) Mr T for a few bits but mainly to recycle the soft plastic and batteries. Took Mr SA and the dog and stopped off at the park on the way home so the dog could have a run with her ball, 250 wees and a 💩
The weather is lovely and sunny here today but very cold.Mr SA is having his siesta. He keeps falling asleep so need to keep an eye on that as that’s how his Lymphoma started. Not a lot else happening really, just pottering about mainly.Tonight’s dinner is veggie burger, spicy wedges and salad. Rose cava has been in the fridge since this morning ready for watching The Masked Singer tonight. I absolutely loathed this programme when it first came out and refused to watch it. Mr SA started watching it and persuaded me to give it another go. The next thing I knew I was arguing with someone on FB about who the singers were 🤣 I quite enjoy it now and it’s amazing who takes part. Last week the one voted off turned out to be Dionne Warwick! I still think whoever thought up the idea needs carting off in a straight jacket though 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -

@Humdinger1 - sorry to read of your DD’s struggles - without saying too much this is ringing a bell with me. Please ask her GP/consultant to take a hormone blood test to check oestrogen levels. This happened to me when I was 22 with the dizziness and was told I l could have MS / lesions on my brain - they scared me witless. A simple blood test after months of worry showed it was a hormonal issue.Everyone is different of course but it really irks me when doctors say it could be something awful when it just as likely might not be!!
SA - so glad that MrSA has you looking after him - I’ve lost count of the times you have saved his life! Take care the both of you xxLancashire

He’s ok tonight so hopefully just him being over tired. I know the signs thankfully and he’s not really showing them yet. He was falling asleep constantly when it first started. I remember DS saying he’d fallen asleep driving them back from work and there was a narrow miss with another car 😬I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5
