  • Icebreakers are great for the trainer, 'half an hour of material I don't have to write'. People complain when you don't do them....

I can honestly say I have never complained at a lack of ice breaker.

That’s another working week done ✔️

What a blooming day! Got absolutely soaked walking to work. I should’ve WFH really but I had a few things to do better done with 3 screens and I had a few bits to do in the city centre on the way home. Tried to dry my trousers, socks and trainers under the dryer in the toilet but they were so wet it only took the edge off them. The toilets are separate self contained cubicles by the way in case anyone thinks I was standing there with my trousers off in a communal one 😆

Then I got a strange email from WW saying they were closing all face to face workshops today in light of recent reports regarding potential threats. I thought what threats 😱 Frantically scoured BBC news but nothing there. Went on the app and several people were posting about it. Anyway the upshot is with it being a worldwide organisation they were taking precautions because of the conflict in the Middle East. Talk about scare everyone!

On the walk home (getting drenched once again) 2 ambulances, a paramedic and the air ambulance all rushed past. The air ambulance was so low I thought it was going to land in front of me! They had all gone to a house just around the corner from me. I don’t know where they landed the helicopter but the crew were running towards the house with their equipment. So some poor soul has had a truly unlucky Friday the 13th 😢 When I got home Mr SA was peering out of the window as he’d seen the helicopter flying over.

In money news the £200 switching money arrived today 🥳 I moved it straight into the regular saver account. I’m still getting used to the app, I like that I can see the mortgage account there. Apparently we’ve been customers of N@tionwide for 20 years, didn’t realise it was that long! What I don’t like is it doesn’t send a notification when money moves in or out. The H@lifax used to send me a happy payday message 😆

I think Mr SA is heading towards a new pester as I had some junk mail from JD Willi@ms with a £30 off your next order voucher (I’ve never ordered anything from them). He said that will go towards my new trainers 🤔 I think this has stemmed from us watching Sort Your Life Out last night where the bloke had loads of pairs of trainers and Mr SA’s eyes nearly popped out of his head.

Today’s exercise has been over 21,000 steps walking to/from work in wet clothes.

Tonight’s dinner is a stir fry with lots and lots of veg 😋

The sinking funds from the Cov have hit the current account so transferred them to the easy saver. Back up and running properly now 👍

You’ll have to remind Mr SA that he got rid of most of his trainers because he had too many 👍

I’m blaming my Scottish colleagues who came to visit us on Wednesday and brought the rain with them🤣 They were looking forward to the sun we had before they arrived, told them not to get too excited 😆

It's horrible being soaked, worse still when it's early in the day. Is there a locker where you could leave spare clothes? (I kept a spare tee shirt in mine, and used to have flip flops too - but I did have to help people shower sometimes and that just isn't sensible in canvas trainers). Failing that, perhaps a grab bag at home to take with you on wet days - though I think WFH sounds better.

It sounds very unnerving having the ban on face to face workshops, you would think they'd have thought to explain it.

Nice that you have your £200! Have a great weekend. :)

@Cherryfudge we have to share lockers at work. I share one with 3 others, there’s barely room for my cup and glass! The workshops only closed for one day. It was to do with threats of protests against what’s happening between Israel and Hamas on Friday.  It’s probably because they’re a US company and I think the threats were more over there than the UK. It was quite a scary message to receive though.
