Morning all, happy Sunday.
Another productive day planned. I got all the gardening jobs ticked off the list yesterday. I tasked Mr SA with planting the winter pansies but it ended up making another job for me as he got soil all over the patio and I had to clear it up.
The carpet man came last night, measured up and I chose a carpet from his samples. He’s also quoting to replace the floorboards in the hallway. He’s going to let me know the damage when he’s totted it all up. Hopefully it won’t be too expensive but the hall floor will need boarding to level up the vinyl with the flooring in the living room and dining room so that’s an extra cost but fortunately the area is quite small.
It’s certainly been an expensive year for house and garden jobs! A couple of unexpected things such as the bathroom ceiling re-plastering and the carpet.
Today’s plan is to give the house a good clean, clean the windows and patch up the bathroom ceiling paint round the new lights. DD is getting ready for work so she’ll be out of the way.
I’ve booked an hours free electricity 12-1 and plan to charge up a few things, run the washing machine on a service wash, make lunch, a batch of soup and some cookies.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪5 -
These are the cookies I’m having a go at banana and oat cookies. I’m going to sub the chocolate chips for raisins.

I have the free electricity at the same time. I saw that they were ending it from the 1st November though, probably the time when a lot of people will need it the most.

They always said it was ending on 1st November, we have booked 2 hours of free electricity today 11-1 as we find it easier to make the most off.

The cookies look good. One to add to my recipes I think.

The cookies turned out well although not sure if they would be improved by a touch of maple syrup or similar as they weren’t that sweet. Will experiment next time as they’re really good.
Ticked all my jobs off the list - finally cleaned the windows 🥳Had a lovely soak in the bath and put the dog in after me as she needed it. She’s lovely and silky now. Some of you may remember she’s partial to M0lton Br0wn. Santa is bringing us a supply of that 😉
Made a veggie sausage casserole in the slow cooker for tonight’s dinner which was delicious 😋 Enough left for another night too 🙂

Just had a massive catch up. Time has taken on new meaning since we’ve moved house……don’t quite know where it’s going to.
So pleased that Mr SA has a diagnosis and it’s treatable. Would it be worth hanging on until the meds kick in before replacing the carpet.
