    Morning all, happy Friday eve.

I've worked out if I do 21 hours, 7 hours per day Monday to Wednesday, I'll be getting more or less the same money as I am now. Then the plan is to wait it out until Cr@pita have got their act together before retiring completely. The scandal with civil service pensions is being talked about in the media now so hopefully that will push things forward.

WFH today so another nice relaxing start to the day. Finishing a bit earlier today as I'm having my nails done. I'm really pleased with the results from the new salon I tried for the first time last month so I think I made the right decision to change.

Today's exercise plan is yoga (done), dog walking (just about to do), a lunchtime strength training class and Zumba tonight.

Only working a few hours tomorrow as I'm meeting some friends for lunch. Really looking forward to it.

Tonight's dinner will be air fried salmon with creamy cabbage, leeks and courgette.

I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪

In the couple of years before I took VR, @Sun_Addict, I went to half-time hours (it should have been jobshare but Snr Mgt right royally b*llsed it up). I worked out my budget based on taking home 50% of my full time salary to be on the safe side. Of course it didn't work out anything like 50% because of paying less tax & NI, as well as cutting the cost of my commute to work. With the cutbacks we we'd been making to pay off our debts, we didn't notice all that much of a difference, even though we still had a mortgage. Wouldn't have done it if we'd still had Spendyitis though.

2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

I heard a R4 discussion about CrAp!ta last week and was horrified to learn that if a spouse dies and it takes more than 2 years for the pension to pay out it is taxed!!!!! Also that there is a trigger point of 150 days delay and once that is reached it is "investigated".

What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
