Happy Saturday all 🥂
A nice quiet day on the whole. Took the dog on the park this morning and did a litter pick. Found £1.20.
Did some gardening afterwards, trimmed a couple of shrubs and somehow managed to cut through the washing line ☹️So what was looking like a NSD ended up with me replacing the washing line £4.99 from a local shop.
Anyway the garden looks a lot tidier and the garden waste bin is full.No visit from DS and the GKs again as DIL was unwell. Seems like there’s always one of them too unwell to visit 😐
It’s a shame as I was going to ask DS’s advice about the bathroom LED ceiling lights as the bulbs have started to go. They’re different from the kitchen ones where it’s easy to change the bulbs. I think we may need the whole units replacing rather than just change the bulbs. Mr SA is all for just leaving them which is all very well at the moment while we have light nights but in a few weeks time it will be a different story. I think I’ll end up getting a local handyman out to have a look as I’ve tried to unscrew them but can’t. It’s around 8 years since they were installed so can’t moan.
Mr SA is driving me nuts with the hosepipe, he’s become obsessed with it. Good job we’re not on a hosepipe ban or water meter as he’s been sitting there just randomly shooting water everywhere 😡 I have chastised him for wasting water.
Today’s exercise has been dog walking and gardening.
I managed a bit of time in my hanging chair reading which was heavenly.
Tonight’s dinner was beetroot burger with sweet potato wedges and salad.
Also put a colour on my hair this morning and have gone a shade darker. Still not sure about it but no one else has noticed so it mustn’t look that different 😆
Rose Prosecco has been opened so that’s me asleep soon 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪8 -
And that’s another weekend gone ☹️
Had quite a productive day. Took the dog on the park and did yet another litter pick. You can tell the difference when it’s the school holidays do the little 🤬not know how to use a litter bin!
After lunch gave the house a really good clean as DD was at work and Mr SA and the dog went for their siesta so an ideal opportunity.Finished my current book and started a new one.
Did a bit of gardening. Banned Mr SA from watering with the hosepipe so fed and watered everything with a watering can.Exercise has been dog walking, cleaning and gardening 14,711 steps.
Tonight’s dinner was smoked basa with pearl barley, leek, cauliflower and green beans. Used up some mini pizza bites leftover from Christmas for lunch with some salad.
Caught Mr SA peeing in the garden 😡goodness knows why! He denied it despite me catching him. This isn’t the first time I’ve caught him doing this.
Also caught him with his phone out of its case yet again. He claimed the case is broken despite it being fairly new. Reminded him if he ruins this phone because it’s not in a case he won’t be getting a new one.
To top it all his fairly new hair clippers have stopped working. He kept charging them up constantly despite not using them that often as he has very little hair. I can’t remember where I bought them from but will have a look for the receipt - if I kept it. Next time I’ll get him ones that just plug in. He’s a nightmare for overcharging things. Basically he’s just a nightmare full stop 😐Back on the hamster wheel again tomorrow but thankfully a short week for me as aiming to finish early on Thursday then off on Friday as have a friend’s retirement lunch to go to.
I can do this 💪I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪5 -
You can absolutely do this x
September 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x1 -
You don’t half have your hands full @Sun_Addict!
Your weekend meals always sound wonderful though and reading/prosecco alongside make for a lovely little pick-me-up too.
Here’s hoping for a smooth sailing week ahead.1 -
Your DHs antics made me laugh 😂
Have you ever watched ‘Shr!nking’? There’s a character on there that likes to pee in the garden and do other random things.
Wonder why your DS wouldn’t just come over on his own with the kids? DIL might have appreciated the house to herself to recover.
If DH is ill, he’s an awful patient so I’d happily leave him to it 😂DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)
FFEF £20000 saved
Currently treading water while having cancer treatment and trying not to dip into FFEF too much!1 -
Afternoon all
No I haven't watched Shrinking. I looked it up and it's only on Apple TV which I don't have. That character sounds like Mr SA 🤣
For some reason DS isn't comfortable with driving long distances which is why he doesn't visit without DIL.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪0 -
Afternoon all.
Worked in the office this morning and WFH this afternoon.
Monday finance check done, nothing to pay off the cc as everything is pending.
New 4 week budget period starts today so the last budget period has been closed off. The groceries pot had an underspend of £16.66 so £6.66 went to the Christmas pot and £10 to the stock up pot. Across all other spending pots there was a combined underspend of £148.72 so £8.72 was sent to the Christmas pot and the rest went back into the relevant master spending pots.
The 🐙 revealed a free Gr£ggs coffee this week.
Stopped off at Lid! on the way home and redeemed the £19.66 off coupon on a good stock up shop.
Today's exercise has been walking to/from work and a live strength training session tonight.
Tonight's dinner is stir fry and noodles to use up some odds and ends of veg in the fridge.
I need to do something with the bananas that were in last week's Lid! fruit/veg box as they're getting a bit too ripe. Might make another couple of banana loaves.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪3 -
Ugh and agh to Mr SA. Is there a job that it won't matter if he messes up you could give him that's 'really important' so he has a project to feel important about?
Your underspends are always so good! Well done, everything definitely merits a prosecco 🥂
